"...and then I says, tell me I'm wrong! and he says, 'I can't, baby, 'CAUSE YOU'RE NOT!'"
Guppy isn't at fault here. I just hope he can pull another trick out of his hat.

Seriously that has to be some massively illegal, mind-altering, brain cell destroying stuff.
P.S. I hope this thread stays jovial and people don't get too heated on either side or else the worst result out of this whole fucked up situation is now the Section will have turned on itself.

Loving PW and knowing he got fucked by our former owners is not in locked opposition to appreciating what JG has done. I could well do without some of the decisions that have been made by people he hired - but regardless. He's not Beelzebub. he needs to put on a better public face, though, because most people haven't seen the JG some of us have.

None of this should or will result in "the section turning on itself". People have had differing opinions on the club for a long time. I know there were vocal elements that hated Marsch, Razov, Bradley, and Wilt among us in past years. That didn't prevent us from supporting our club together.

That's not to say he's been an ideal GM, just discussing the perception of him personality wise from what little I know.

But JG sincerely cares about the club. He's not PW. No one will ever be. But he's certainly not stupid. And he's not out to fuck us at every turn. Some of us have seen it, and more fans need to see what we've seen.

I agree that in the end we will all be singing at the top of our lungs come April. Sometimes it seems people say things that if were said in the real world, you'd expect to never hear them again. But that is the nature of anonymity/protection that these intertubes provide people. Good times. Good times.

I will admit that JG's actions this year (Blanco, JCO, Conde) made me not hate him. But this situation just makes me feel that someone let this organization be treated no better than if we were tied up in the basement of a gun shop in Pulp Fiction. I know JCO and New Jersey RB deserve some of the blame but JG has to have a portion too.
JCO was better than DS. Now for me not to feel like I should go medieval on him Guppy will have to find someone better than JCO. That is how this could become a forgivable situation. Find the Fire its Arsene Wegner/Sir Alex. Call me crazy but I thought for a while JCO could have been that manager.

Today's discussion does go in Guppy's favor thus far, in my opinion, though.

From the RedCard
Osorio felt spurned by Fire
According to a source close to Juan Carlos Osorio, it wasn't just family reasons that led to his leaving for the New York Red Bulls. He felt short-changed by his contract with the Fire. Not only that, he was upset with promises made to him by the organization that were not fulfilled.
By the time the Fire was willing to improve his contract in hopes of keeping him, the damage had already been done.

He stated his goal was to get the team to the play offs in his initial press conference.
Who knows. I can't bash Guppy for things I don't know.
I can give Gupster some props for some positive things this year:
Blanco
JCO
Consession improvements.
more Fire ads in print and tv
And some boos for things he could improve:
The north lot was crowded and often fouled with tar.
Tailgating hours were cut back.

I don't have details but my understanding is there is movement to address both. The north lot was crowded and often fouled with tar.
Tailgating hours were cut back.
