Wish I was making those salaries.
They're low, when compared with the other 4 major US professional sports.

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.
I think the trio of Adams/Davis/Felipe more than makes up for the absence of Dax in the midfield. I think Felipe has been pretty good in that deeper role as well. Don't forget that in this off-season the team was actively shopping all three of Sacha, Felipe, and Dax as per twellman.
The mistake is that we really should have used this money on a durable CB who was not a project. A Parkhurst right now would be wonderful.

we have quite a few guys that make in between $101k-$499k. would like a different category to be established in graphs like these where they make a differentiate guys who make north of $100k and guys who make in between $250k-$499k.
Look at Orlando and LA. I'd be worried if I was the GM/SD of either team. I imagine Orlando's graph will be different next yr when Kaka (prob) retires.

There's some correlation between spending and PPG but not a ton. Overall I think the argument is more in favor of spending smart than spending a ton. Toronto's the only one doing both right now. I guess Atlanta too if you consider transfer fees in addition to just salaries.
This is why I'm more frustrated with our lack of impact in the $200k-$500k range than the lack of big DP spending.

prob cuz he'll be 33 next season. makes some sense as to why he went for so little, in addition to Chicago re-booting, they were keen on dumping bloated expendable salaries, just like a lot of MLS teams during the offseason.

He is getting old now. Still better than Davis though and would be an upgrade for us.
love Dax - GREAT PLAYER GREATER PERSON.
loved seeing him on MLSsoccer playoff shows - talked about how painful it was to see DeLeon score the winner as it brought back bad memories.
Good luck in Nashville
go spend time and some $ on the next Dax - which could be Koffi or Tolkien or CCJ U23 teammate.
Bradley Wright-Phillips "I prefer it at Red Bull Arena, but it was OK. I could imagine it being good for a baseball crowd.

There are several factors - I am sure one of them being his age and another the optional year is not as cheap. Plus can't Nashville just get him in expansion if they really want him, so with this trade they got something: 100K and a pick. Chicago could have just waived the team option if he was worthless. Dax is still worth something though - 3 years after we gave him away. And each one of these 3 years he would have been an upgrade over some of our players. Even against Philly in play-offs, he would have started and Davis could come in when Sims went down with Rza shifting to wing. We wouldn't have to see Muyl's "offense" until Kaku goes down, and probably end up winning the game. Or pair him up with Adams last year with Davis off the bench. NYRB inept management really screwed the team with this trade.
