Excited for my first Redbulls road game this weekend. Any tips/suggestions for Montreal?

Any tips/suggestions for Montreal?
If you like pastrami, try Smoked Meat!

Main Deli is across from tourist trap Schwartzs.

If you like crepes, try this hole in the wall,
instead of a chain restaurant.

Walk through Old Montreal. Touristy, but enjoyable.

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

You can literally buy weed randomly from ppl outside your hotel.
Finding a bodega equivalent so that you can buy rolling papers...that's a completely different story.

Agree with the smoked meat recommendation. Never been to Main Deli, but Schwartz's is fantastic (though yes, a tourist trap). Their french fries are uncommonly good as well. And speaking of french fries, no trip to MTL is complete without eating poutine at least once. There are about 1,000 different places, so look on Yelp--there are a ton of reviews.

If you like nightlife hit up St. Catherines street. It's an absolute must. Gentlemen's clubs, night clubs, bars, cheap poutine, and anything you would want there.

Stroll around Le Plateau. Hike to the top of Mt Royal (probably the #1 thing to do). La Banquise is the classic for poutine. Agrikol is a fantastic restaurant.

Thanks everyone. I take it getting to Saputo is fairly easy? How much time should we allow for travel from downtown?

When I was in Montreal a few years ago, I went to the top of Mount Royal. Coming down, a guy tried to sell me weed and we ended up talking about the Canadiens goaltending situation for about 10 minutes.

About 15-20 Minutes. Stade Saputo is right off the PIE IX station on the Montreal Metro.

Yep, it's a bunch of stops on the subway, but surprisingly doesn't take that long.
Montreal is a great city. Great restaurants and nightlife. Honestly, wouldn't mind living there if the weather was better.

usually in the back of a section opposite from UM 1906 (or whatever). if you're watching on TV, it's the section behind the goal on the left side (when you're watching TV). they have groups located on either end, but both are near the goalmouth, you'll be situated at the top/back of the section over, and they'll have security.
went to the MTL playoff away match.

we lucked out as we were considering doing that, just as some dude with a fat blunt passed by us walking his large Mastiff. we talked to him, he smoked us out and told us that Mt Royal would be the move. 10 seconds after he walked away 2 guys walked by and we spoke with them. copped $50 bucks of decent shit, even though i've always been terrible at rolling. it worked out in the end when i gave Pretzels the rest of the bag and he allegedly passed out on the way back to the US border.

I'm not saying I've ever done it but a nuru massage probably isn't the worst thing in the world.
Again, not for me though.
Schwartz's is fantastic. Katz's Deli is a tourist trap too - doesn't make it any less fantastic.

Nuru? That's almost like a Houston rub n tug. ESC Folklore.

Is there a dedicated away supporters section? Possibly making a impulse last second trip up there tonight
