East and West are different, and as MF pointed out, we don't have to play ourselves, and Orlando doesn't get to play themselves.

Who we play home and away probably makes a huge difference too. Schedule gets a lot easier when you're playing the better Western conference teams at home.

We have to go on the road to face 5 of the 6 playoff teams from the West last year. The only one that we host is RSL, who was the 6th seed. I don't see how our schedule is easier than anyone's, other than the example that we don't have to play ourselves, while Orlando doesn't get to play themselves. If anything, our schedule is one of the harder ones.

Except like Toronto from alpha dog one season to mutt the next, you never know how the teams will play in the new year. It also matters when you face them. Is it during a hot or a cold streak? Are they or you missing key players? Pre and post Rooney made a big difference when playing DC, for example.

Bottomline everyone in the East plays the same schedule except home and away with the Western foes. Of course if you suck then your schedule is always the "hardest".

If we want to hoist the silver then we have to learn how to win on the road. Better we cut our teeth during the regular season and get better than to believe we are better than we are because of "soft" schedule.

Just win baby.

We had the second-best away record in the league last season.

I'm not looking for 2nd best...

We have trouble when it counts.

The point of my post was disputing the report that we have "the easiest schedule in the league".

Hmm ... who was first?

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

Sure, but that's the case with everyone who doesn't actually win MLS Cup. The only team that won more than half of their away games in 2018 was Atlanta. They won 10 of 17.

I'm fully convinced the league is trying to ensure that our arch enemy is NYCFC rather than DC. This way they can try and pair off Philly with DC.

I'd like to think we are very much like the NFC East (NY, Philly, WAS, DAL) where everyone hates everyone and depending on the age of the fan, will determine who the most hated rival is. Older/long term fans feel it is and always will be DC while younger fans/newcomers feel it's NYCFC. I'm not a Giants fan but I'm around enough of them to know while they all hate every team in their division with a passion, the older fans hate Dallas while the younger fans generally hate Philly the most due to their recent success. Ideally I think it's best for the MLS and all four fan bases to have a very healthy hate for each other.  :D

Not much of an NFL fan these days, but I always hated Dallas so much that I wanted them out of the division!
Carolina should be in the East, DAL in the South.
Eff Jerry Jones!
