Depending on the result of MLS Cup, either Portland or us will play Atletico Pantoja of the Dominican Republic in the first round.

That's a borderline automatic quarterfinal spot.

I'm rooting for Atlanta.

That was 10 years ago. Last year's Dominican rep lost 7-0 to Chivas.

You OK with fans littering the pitch with bottles and cans?

littering yes... Don't try to hit the players... No need to... But littering yes.. Littering and pollution is littering and pollution whether it's celebratory like colored smoke and streamers and confetti or in disgust like bottles and cans...
I just want Metro to win a title sometime in my lifetime.

Meteor hits the stadium, no one wins and we go to CCL

I'm ok with this as well

It's Metro - don't count your chickens.

For me, ATL. Love Gio - always will, but I want the CCL spot. One more competition next year for me to have hope of winning only to lose in the most inexplicable of ways.

If Atlanta wins MLS Cup, we will play Dominican club Atletico Pantoja who qualified as the 2018 Caribbean Club Champions.

If Portland wins than its over before it began.

After some thought I agree with some of the comments that it would be better for Metro to have ATL win. As much as I like what Gio  did for us in early days of Metro I feel that getting into a international tournament is good for us. that is especially true if we win it.

I'm not rooting one way or the other.  After the game if Atlanta has won I'll be glad for the CCL spot. If Portland won I'll be glad that Atlanta wound up with zero trophies for their efforts (I don't rate the Eastern Conference trophy).  Lalas is already dubbing Atlanta a 'Super Club' and their fans are happily agreeing with that narrative.  Seriously, if they choke and failed to win the Cup, the Shield, and the US Open Cup, are we going to say they're a Super Club?

I'm rooting for banning orders that means all ATL fans are banned and they have to play in an empty stadium,

I am surprised there is a debate on this. Yes, Gio is a former Metro ATG, but the key point here is former. Now he is with another organization, and there is a clear benefit in Atlanta winning for the current Metro: CCL qualification. Only 4 US teams qualify over the course of two years. This is a big honor and opportunity: last year we made semis. No MLS team has ever won this tournament, and we get a chance to be in it with Atlanta win. This is a no brainer here - Atlanta win is our ticket.

It's a no brainer if you just love being in as many competitions and playing as many games as possible without winning any of the tournaments. If you want to win the mls cup, ccl is nothing but a distraction.

Personally I like ccl and more games but I won't be rooting for Atlanta, I won't root for anyone. We didn't make the ccl cuz we blew it.

Agreed

I am wanting Metro to get into CCL but I won't be cheering on Atlanta if they lose then good. If they win eff em anyway and at least NY will play CCL. It's whatever to me.. I'll be happy for Diego Chara and all the other long time Timbers if they win though..
