Formerly of the RBNY u-23s. RB2 or battling with Macintosh for the #2 spot.
At least it wont take an international spot

Hamlett calls Anderlecht and sees if they'll take 100k in GAM and a 3rd round draft pick for their goalkeeper. This one is definitely ours

Gets hung up on, so Bobby Edwards from the Northern Irish second division it is.
Edit: Before anybody yells at me, this is obviously okay for a USL or 3rd GK signing.
If you scan YouTube looking for Bradley Wright-Phillips, youll find numerous goal compilations, a few interviews and, eventually, an excerpt from the grime mixtape series Lord of the Mics.

Bobby Edwards from the Northern Irish second division.
Portadown is listed as a semi-pro team.
They currently top the NI second division.
Has he been starting for them? Playing regularly?
We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

Believe so, their fans are calling him one of the best players they've ever had.

Again: Wasn't the ENTIRE point of getting rid of one of the better goalies in the league because we were handing the keys over to Mera? If so why the hell are we focusing on getting freaking goalies when the rest of our roster is well below the league average and a solid candidate to end up in the league basement?
No, that wasn't the point. The point was he was old and expensive. O+E doesn't fit in the RB system. Having Meara just made the decision easier.

Here's the only quote I could find from Hamlett on Meara after they declined the option on Robles. Would love to know the question that prompted this response. Did someone specifically ask him to comment on Meara or did he bring this up on his own?

“We have a lot of confidence in Ryan,” Hamlett said. “I think if you look at the run he had with the USL team winning a championship and the (U.S.) Open Cup run and the few games he had in MLS when he had to step in when Luis was out, we have a high level of confidence in Ryan.
“He’s waited for his opportunity and he’s stepped up when he’s been called upon, so we do have a high level of confidence in Ryan.”

I think he just edged out the guy from Ireland who used to play with me in the Cosmopolitan League....
Bradley Wright-Phillips "I prefer it at Red Bull Arena, but it was OK. I could imagine it being good for a baseball crowd.

*watches youtube clips of Harrison Ford, Patrick Bergin, and Sean Bean in 'Patriot Games' for the next 2 hrs*
IMO, he's an RB2 signing to contend with Lapsley.

The New York Red Bulls previously kicked around Major League Soccer as the MetroStars with limited success. But after transforming under a new banner in 2005, the Red Bulls have become a force to be reckoned with in the Eastern Conference. The club has made leaps of progress since its previous incarnation and now has its focus on bringing the league title to New York.
