Your not understanding. When ragnick was with red bull, he picked a few of the assistant coaches regardless on who was the head coach. If ragnick takes a front office role with man u, armas will most likely stay because he would have the support of ragnick.

They brought in Armas because recruiting assistants who understand the philisophy within a few weeks midseason during a pandemic is borderline impossible. Rangnick essentially admitted as much to the media. That's all there is to it. He'll be gone in the summer.

We also have to consider, that one of the reasons Ragnick hired Armas was bc there werent many options available. Ragnick was hired only for the remainder of the season. Any asst coaches with jobs knew that a role at Man U would likely be temporary, so why leave somewhere for 1/2 a season unless youre someone like Armas.

Im not saying Armas isnt a good asst coach or that Ragnick doesnt like him, but there is a chance he was chosen bc other options werent interested in a temp role.

No manager is turning down Manchester United because the club insists on one assistant being retained.

Exactly.

Hes be retained in some bullshit specialist assist role.

Like assistant coach for kicking the ball into peoples hands in order to draw a penalty.

And you guys think Man U would push back on a coach to retain Armas? Im not saying he couldnt be on staff somewhere, but I dont think theres a chance hes anywhere near the role he has now.

Arent they interested Potch? They want to lure him away from Messi, Mbappe, & Neymar and not let him pick his entire staff? Its not like Armas is some longtime Man U that could help with the transition.

PSG is going to fire him at the end of the season, so that doesn't really matter. I can't think of any manager who gets to pick his entire staff though.

But arent the guys that normally stay people that know the club? Like Ferguson at Everton. Not guys that the players dont respect and have been there 6 months.

If we go with what ragnick did in the past, he likes appoint atleast 1 assistant coach on the bench when he was in the front office. My guess is that he likes to have another direct line besides the head coach to how the team is performing in practice. I will not be suprised if that guy ends up being Armas. It's not whether armas is a good coach or not but whether can ragnick trust him in giving an unbiased evaluation of players, training and coaches. That is why I only see him staying if ragnick continues to have a role with the club.

If man u gets a big time coach, i dont see why they would keep ragnick or armas.

Ragnock is going into a consultancy role. He will NOT be head of sport like he was at Red Bull.

It would be funny if rangnick reports back to man u and says he is the most qualified person for the job after extensive coach search...lol

He literally made the same joke/comment soon after starting https://inews.co.uk/...ronaldo-1333705 :)

It's certainly possible that he stays as a full-time manager if they have a great springbuf probably not too likely. Current betting odds have him as the third favorite behind Ten Haag and Pochettino.
