TBF, I think you have the Murillo situation backwards - he was benched for being a problem, he didn't become a problem because he was benched.    Sims almost certainly went back because of Covid and nothing else.

Say what you will about Murillo, but when a guy is a star before Armas, then becomes a star right after Armas, and wasn't injured or anything during Arma's tenure, it's fair to say Armas had a lot to do with him not playing up to potential. And still he was 10 times better than Buck. Sims was just another example of benching a player who is clearly superior. Sure, Covid had a  lot to do with departure, but being a back-up and barely playing on RB in MLS I don't think helped when alternative is back-up in EPL. Again, be it as it may, that's two example of clearly superior players whom Armas benched and left.

Kaku started to get similar treatment, so I definitely prefer Bradley to Armas, so that we don't risk losing Kaku as well, but we need someone better to coach this team, since it looks now even worse than under Armas with 5 defenders and no midfield.

Taxi wasn't going to stay, and Murillo benched himself.   Kaku needed to be benched, and Sims left because of Covid.

No, Taxi just wanted a raise, would have stayed: https://elitesportsn...raise-refusal/. But we saved by getting Seagrist.

Sims was benched before Covid. Benching Kaku surely backfired in play-offs. As far as Murillo, he wasn't even on play-off roster (before he left to become starter for Anderlecht) in favor of this USL superstar: https://www.memphis9...rece-buckmaster

Make all excuses you want for coaching or FO, but it's just a fact that we mismanaged some really good talent. That one that's still producing well on better teams, like Anderlecht, Paraguay NT, championship. Something has to change going forward.

You can't say Sims was benched (started his last game here in the playoffs) and then turn around and say Kaku is contributing (made it onto the field in 1 of the last 4 Paraguay games, off the bench). If we're going to cherry pick, it can go both ways.

Anyway, we would all like to have better players here and contributing. There are external factors not always allowing for that. It's not Football Manager where you plug and play players no matter what.

Sims was just interviewed saying he loved RB and would want to still be here if it wasnt for Covid. I think we ignore Murillo was a train wreck in the end here. Taxi was not staying. You could say he wanted a raise all you want, but he literally had just gotten one. Kaku has barely played for Paraguay, which is awesome, and has also been given consistent minutes for RB. Cherry picking doesnt tell the full story.

I agree with many people here, the team has done a nice job of developing talent and selling them, poor job replacing them.

Sims was benched by Armas this year before COVID. That's just a fact, there is no cherry picking here. Kaku makes it regularly it to Paraguyan roster, that's a big achievement in itself. No, he is not a starter there, but he does contribute for a powerhouse. Perhaps you are missing the point, which is these players are immensely talented to play in Championship and make Paraguay roster, Anderlecht, yet somehow are not good enough to be starters for Metro. You can say it's because of external factors, which sounds more like an excuse given the success of these guys elsewhere, but there is a common denominator here, which is incompetent coaching and management of Metro.

I truly hope it will change with new coaching and management (you could notice how Parker and CCJ drastically improved their play without Armas), but as you probably heard quite a bit,  I was not very encouraged by the start of Struber's tenure, so we will need to see.
