#1359507 Preseason in Florida and Arizona

Posted by Grelladinho on Today, 05:56 AM

Just an awful job by the front office... Getting guys in earlier helps with the transition so much.  Just getting them in under the wire of the start of the season results in slow starts

Not only that, but the front office has had a lot of time to change the future direction of this team and so far only has been able to bring in Sims from outside the organization over the past two transfer windows. And he arrived very late, on loan, and was unable to make any impact.

If Sims is coming back, there's no excuse why he is not in training camp already.

Both Hamlett and Armas are incapable of identifying targets, finalizing deals and getting them done in a timely manner. They supposedly are now chasing Cosgrove but haven't even tabled an offer to Aberdeen yet. Shouldn't that have been done a while ago? And before Armas left the country to go on a field trip to Leipzig?

Pony up and get Everton Soares and Gabigol

They need to play for Red Bull II before RBNY can sign them.

If you think this could happen then you should expect half of the ownership groups in MLS to be booted.

None of the other teams are in markets as big as Red Bull.

I don't think the league is just going to sit around and do nothing if Red Bull starts drawing Chivas numbers.

I think im done if we spend 1 million + on a transfer fee for a GK!!

In a salary cap league where Meara has proven to at least be a passable MLS GK to pay a big fee and im sure his salary isnt gonna be 100k is just idiotic to me.

Get a fucking attacking asset or a proven CM.

Why are we even chasing this guy? Meara is fine, just let him play.

its getting to the point where i feel we are being robbed of US top flight Division soccer.

This is why I posted the other week about the league possibly needing to get involved if the situation continues going the way it is.

How can MLS sell itself in this major market as a top flight, legitimate soccer league if you have one of its teams operating explicitly as a farm team for two clubs in Europe that belong to the same ownership group?

There's no other situation like this in American pro sports. It makes MLS look like a joke and compromises the integrity of the competition.

Overall MLS is a selling league to Europe, but when you have a team owned by an entity as rich as Red Bull, and they are operating their MLS franchise in this manner...it's a growing problem.

We get it. The team is cheap and hasn't made any made any meaningful moves for the first team. We have like eight different threads and a front page clock dedicated to that problem. I don't need to be reminded of it every time they sign a really good 17-year-old or announce a new ice cream flavor at the concession stands.

I'm sorry you don't like it but the complaining from the fan base is here to stay unless the team actually goes out and signs players. You're just going to have to get used to it or avoid all social media/forums from now on.

There are dozens of people at this very moment talking about the Flores signing on Red Bull Facebook pages. To think all of them are going to stop complaining because you don't like reading it, lol

#1359057 Hamlett is in so far over his head

1 player isnt enough and we shouldnt settle for that.

Dude stop complaining. This team has won three shields in the last decade yet our fans still whine. We should be happy with Red Bull as the owner because it could be way worse.

That kid Robinson seemed like he didn't even know or care who Beckham is.

Awkward as hell to watch

Do you have a track jacket fetish or something?

Joe Goldstein said they were working on an intl signing. Didnt mention this week.

Not sure who the player is, Sims? da Silva Lopes apparently isnt for sale, havent heard any more about Tanner.

It's going to be that Brazilian Ayuri guy who keeps commenting on the RBNY Instagram.

Tone deaf by the front office and social media team to announce these two before any kind of international signing -- if they even make one of those.

They both deserve their spots but are going to get destroyed by the fan base before even stepping on the field.

#1358694 Random tweets about Ivan Cavaleiro, not Pedro Neto

As far as this league has come, we are still not the place you send $20M players on loan to develop.

Not even a young Raheem Sterling when he was at Liverpool? 😉

It would certainly be a loan, but outside of one random tweet I dont see this suggested anywhere else.

Even a loan for this guy seems nearly impossible, because Wolves trust him enough to play the full 90 at Liverpool, against Man United in the FA Cup, etc.

after the 7/4 loss at Colorado......
I would hope they sign some younger players before camp like Tolkien and the other kid from Barca AZ that was training with Leipzig.
RBS sells Haaland and has like 2 other top striker prospects already in the fold.

Still unfortunately think they are looking to have 6 months scouting and analytics group before they spend any more $$$$

What about all the scouting done before the new people were brought in? Do they truly have nobody in mind and RB Europe is completely unwilling to help in any way, so RBNY have to essentially start from scratch?

It's possible but I find it hard to believe.

#1358315 First offseason rumor: Insaurralde

Posted by Grelladinho on 28 December 2019 - 11:31 AM

The club doesn't need any more projects right now.

They need an Ibrahimovic/Vela/Ruidiaz/Bou/Pozuelo-type signing who can start banging in goals fairly quickly after joining.
