Thought Long deserved a look (esp. considering the players called up).

This time last year I would have said this is the stupidest thing Ive ever heard. That being said, I did hold my breath for a second while running through American CBs in MLS in my head while reading the list.

If you scan YouTube looking for Bradley Wright-Phillips, youll find numerous goal compilations, a few interviews and, eventually, an excerpt from the grime mixtape series Lord of the Mics.

Great for him, and deserved, but not thrilled about this... we saw what a negative impact it had on Sacha when he didn't get a full pre-season with the team, and if they are looking to give Adams a bigger role, especially in the middle of the field, he'll need all the pre-season minutes he can get.

Sacha's getting old had a negative impact on Sacha, not a training camp.

My concern isn't about fitness, it's about Adams having to maybe learn a new position, and a position requiring him to be in synch with everyone around him.   If  we keep him as a wingback, I have less concern.

Adams looked out of his element playing in an attacking midfield role tonight with the USA. I still think his best role is as a box to box mid behind a true #10.

Box-to-box is his best role, but if he played in an attacking role here, he would be better.  Here his role would better defined by the Red Bull coaching staff than Arena's leftovers have prepared this squad.  And, he'd rely a lot more on the press than creativity to generate offense.  Sacha didn't look great his last game or so with the Nets either.

That said, I am hoping Adams plays next to Felipe.

Yea I thought he definitely looked better playing a more defensive role. That being said, playing under a high press system here is very different that playing a one-off game for USA with an interim coach and multiple guys making their debuts. We will see..

Tyler Adams was called up again for next Tuesday's game against Paraguay.  Hopefully he plays the central mid role, and not (Right back / Right mid / attacking mid) like he has in the past.

I think Tyler learned to, shall we say, embellish the contact, from Felipe.

Tyler best player on field tonight.

"Obviously, I want to make a living (in soccer), to say the least," he said. "There's so much you can accomplish in the soccer world, and right now I'm focused on having a good season with the Red Bulls. Ultimately, our goal is to win the MLS Cup, and I see no reason why we can't." - #4 Tyler Adams

Have seen that from him in all the games he has played in. Definetly falls a little bit too easy when he knows to expect contact.
