G's vs Salt Lake
Saturday

What a game Landon had against Dallas... Wow! I am truly grateful that he plays for my team. I will be there to rejoice and feast upon his awesomeness.

Screw Kreis and his bruisers. So what if they're first in the league? So what if they're on a 5 game winning streak in our house? So what if our set piece defense sucks? Oops... Well, F 'em all the same.

The time is now, G's.
Time to get serious.
Time to defend The Cup.
Time to start Penedo.
Time to give the ball to Keane
Time to give the ball to the Greatest American of All Time.
Time to kick ass.

Oh Landon Donovan

Also, Mac Brady is celebrating his wedding reception at the pregame spot. Come wish him and his new bride good luck and many Galaxy victories in the future.

From reports of this week, it would seem that Bruce is evaluating Cudacini through the same set of lenses he uses when he looks at Leonardo.

I'm excited to be there tonight, along with the Heir of My House.

I hope we win.

RSL has been firing on all cylinders, and I think we're still figuring out cruise control.

I'm hoping for the best, but expecting the worst.

BUT, perhaps KARMA will smile upon us... especially after perusing the PROFESSIONAL REFEREE ORGANIZATION's autopsy of our last game against Dallas:

"Rejer explained: "Blas Perez of Dallas was in an offside position when the first free-kick was taken, the AR Kevin Duliba should have been aware of this as offside is his number one priority and focus.

"As soon as the kicker plays the ball, the AR should focus on the offside player. Then, as in this case, as soon as he plays the ball he is interfering with play. Therefore, the goal should have been disallowed."

"Later in the game, George John of Dallas is in an offside position from a free-kick. When the delivery came over he made a challenge for the ball and, at this point, the AR should have raised his flag for offside - this time for interfering with an opponent.

"Using the very same process he should have been aware of the offside player from the outset and concentrated on him and raised the flag when he became active."

So with that said, the universe demands that we win by two goals.

Hey, maybe Bruce was just employing some misdirection - Penedo's starting!  Tonight's Gs:

Penedo; De La Garza, Gonzalez, Leonardo, Dunivant; Jimenez, Sarvas, Juninho, Zardes; Donovan, Keane

Subs:  Rowe, Franklin, Opare, Mastroeni, Stephens, Villarreal, McBean

0-0 at halftime.  Same old, same old:  Dominating play, many scoring opportunities, squat to show for it, bla bla bla.

The new keeper hasn't had much to do.  I'm okay with it staying that way.

Oh, hey, looks like Viva Pete scored in the alumni game!

Aww, crap.  Our new DP loses his man, who beats our new keeper one-on-one.  This fucking sucks.

And three minutes later KEANE evens things out!  See what happens when you actually shoot the damn ball?

Couple of minutes after that - sure looked to me like Donovan's shot was over the line.

Franklin in for Jimenez at 65 minutes.  He promptly sends a nifty cross that KEANE knocks home!

I don't believe I see why that NFLball-style tackle of Zardes as he's shooting isn't a penalty.  Typical Fake goonery.

But right after that OOOOOOOOMMMMMAAAAAARRRRRRR scores off a corner kick!

Penedo comes out and knocks away a corner kick!  I've missed seeing that.

85 minutes in, KEANE chips Fake Hugo Chavez for the hat trick!

Villarreal in for Keane in stoppage time.

Feh - Robbie Findley, who is fast, scores a consolation goal in the 95th minute.  But Gs win, 4-2.

G's Win. Great game. Why do I question the Great Arena?

EDIT: Just watched replay and that was a nifty flick by Grabavoy to Plata for RSL's first goal.
