He came here for the Leipzig job.

I'd think Newcastle flush with $$$ would be the bigger gig.

When you overlook the fact that the owners might hack you to death in a consulate, I'm sure it's a great job.

If you scan YouTube looking for Bradley Wright-Phillips, youll find numerous goal compilations, a few interviews and, eventually, an excerpt from the grime mixtape series Lord of the Mics.

As long as he doesn't insult them, he's OK. But,
I wouldn't want to be manager, if NUFC are relegated.

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

Sam Stejskal on Twitter: "New York Red Bulls head of sport Kevin Thelwell was linked earlier this week to the Newcastle United sporting director gig. I interviewed Thelwell yesterday. "I can perhaps understand why I might be linked," he said, but "I'm focused at the job at hand" with Red Bull. https://t.co/cmPB9FZwhV" / Twitter

Thats really the only response he could give, I think. But it does sound like he's quickly getting his CV out there.

Thellwell + Mourinho does not sound like a winning combination.

Bradley Wright-Phillips "I prefer it at Red Bull Arena, but it was OK. I could imagine it being good for a baseball crowd.

Did you read the whole quote? He talks about specific connections and prior places of employment - a touch more than a standard response.

I think Clark and Carmona should be in the good category.  Clark for what he provided last year and being able to flip him for $3mm is a good signing even if he slowed down this season.  Carmona is on really low salary and contributing to the first team.  I dont think anyone thought when we signed him he would be more than a guy learning in the USL.  if you expected him to be a worldbeater now your expectations were no realistic.

PErsonally i think its too soon to put Klimala as not good but putting him in not good for now is fine.

Not a bad scorecard, that's a decent hit rate. What's missing is anyone who warrants an "Amazing" category. Maybe a few guys that could get there in time, but nobody out the gate

Amaya should be dropped to the Terrible list. I'm coming to believe missing that signing so spectacularly is what prevented us from being a comfortable playoff team.

So the narrative I see here is that both Struber AND Thelwell are incapable of building an attack but capable of building a defense?
