If he goes the full 90 will he earn his second 'l' in his last name?

While in Portland we discussed these selections and formed a hypothesis that this squad with many North America based players is the first of three squads that Klinsmann will select with the intent of evaluating the US talent pool as a whole.

If we are correct, the game in Philly vs the classic rival is good to evaluate the A/B N. American squad.

Facing a squad similar in strength as our own in Belgium is a good test for a A/B European based squad. (Example: Dempsey and Altidore switch in for Donovan and Agudelo)

Finally, weaker opponent (Costa Rica) to see the young guys, or a MLS only C level squad.

Theres no way Herc isnt brought to play in the Costa Rica game. If he's calling in Orozco and Castillo, no way he doesnt bring in Herc

You know, that's pretty astute. Time will tell, but this would also explain the inclusion of the Mexican-league players whom I didn't expect to see.

If I'm completely honest with you... I want the U.S. to win on Wednesday.

It's important for Klinsmann to get off on the right foot, it's important for the U.S. to find a new style and find early rewards with that style.... and it's also important for Mexico to check itself. Right now we are on "El Super Tri de Nuestra SeƱora de Guadalupe" mode, and while fun, it's unhealthy... especially 3 years out from the WC.

Unrealistic as it may seem, Mexico is always dreaming about a World Cup, but at some point we need to stop dreaming and start working toward it. I think a U.S. win would help cool Mexico off a bit and help the party end and re-start the work and preparation that won the Gold Cup.

I'll still be cheering for Mexico, but I'll be more than welcome to a U.S. win. Good luck.

according to Steven Goff's twitter

Nothing to worry about on Timmy Chandler front: In exchange for missing Mex friendly, he committed to both Sept friendlies. Details to come

You must check the timelines. I reported my findings an hour or more before Goff or Wahl, thus making me America's premier soccer reporter.

Well done.... btw, Shrek Brea was a good call up... kid gave AJ a hard time. AJ definitely looked out-matched but the eyes do not give up... ever. There were a couple of times where Shrek turned AJ around but AJ stuck with him. Even so, Shrek definitely adds something.

And again, the prospect of having a true left mid and being able to play Landon up front is invaluable.

Ok this makes no sense

Beckerman, Torres get pushed up in the CM pecking order
Rogers comes in for DeMarcus Beasley at half time or so
Instead of pushing Landon to LM halfway through the game.

Love'em or Hate'em (Hate'em) Robbie Rogers is in "that conversation" for USMNT players.
Jurgen has to take his own look at all those players
Better he does it for a meaningless game than for qualifers
Ya know...like Bob would do.
