#1353499 Offseason hasn't started yet, but some people want cuts

Posted by cBr on 09 September 2019 - 06:35 AM

i can easily see BWP go to one of our rival teams in the east after we totally botch up the contract renegotiations and give them 1-2 quality years before retiring. If he rehabs right Philly has the midfield to provide him adequate service.

We spent too much money on Jorgensin for them not to give him a bunch of first team mins and White has shown he can play for pennies on the dollar (which ownership probably loves)

Our deep CM position needs to be addressed above all. Its the jenga piece that is collapsing everything.

Need to keep Parker. Theres no coincidence his and most players form dipped after Adams left. He was our cornerstone

#1353089 Room for improvement on our roster

Posted by cBr on 01 September 2019 - 07:52 AM

Needed a difference maker in midfield, a legit right back, and an experienced CDM.

Got none of that, left 3 roster spots open, and now we lose to a crap team 2-0 at home during the hunt.

Red Bull Out.

Im still confident Murillo can play RB in this league. Sure hell have a brain fart here and there but if he didnt he would be playing on La Liga.

They key here is finding two CM upgrades. 1 destroyer. And 1 2 way that can hold the ball and initiate the attack. Especially A true DM that can cover for the outside backs runs and shield our CBs.

MLS quality is constantly evolving. It has rendered guys like Lade obsolete and now it has passed Davis by as well.  Hamlett and the FO are just sitting on their hands while this evolution/progress is being made by our rivals.

The sad thing is that we think that Colorado is a shit team and we should beat them. Were the same shit.  Weve been punching above our weight class for years bc of BWPs deal with the devil and Robles heroics.

Maybe his brother?

i trust that hamlet and company have a  big money south american signing up their sleeves (with a free agent Ribery type older euro as the back up plan) after a move like this.

Very exciting times to be a rb fan

#1351335 So now what's the ideal XI (and subs) from late August on?

Posted by cBr on 11 August 2019 - 09:03 AM

Last year of contract, age, new CBA, shaping up to be an important offseason. DPs may no longer exist, and it could be an opportunity for the gap between the spenders and non spenders to grow.

Either way cant imagine hes coming back unless hes willing to sit the bench and be a spot starter/late game sub.

This isnt the type of team that would keep a legend on the bench at a reduced re-negotiated contract.

Ideally BWP would be used as a super sub for the next handful of years like Milan used to do with Inzaghi.  Werder Bremen does the same thing with a 41 year old Pizzaro.

Even the wealthy teams out there have roles for quality vets to round out their roster

Winning hardware isnt on the bullet points on the mission statement for our club however.

Our ideal XI will always differ from ownerships Ideal Xl

Not hating the move for this guy but this is unacceptable if this is the only move were going to make.

Ok hamlett doesnt have international connections, but nothing in terms of inter league trades as well?  Unacceptable

#1350541 EPL Interest in Aaron Long

Posted by cBr on 03 August 2019 - 01:16 PM

I wonder what RBs play is here. If they really valued him at 15 mil hell be sitting on a bus now next to Tyler Adams on the way to a preseason match

I bet their plan is to wait out until January and see which parent club needs a CB reinforcement for a fraction of the 4 mil offered

#1350524 Prepared for the transfer window

Posted by cBr on 03 August 2019 - 11:12 AM

If there arent any players who can fit your system, then you better CHANGE YOUR FUCKING SYSTEM.

Cant. Austria probably wants to keep everything consistent in the event another Tyler Adams comes through so he can make a smooth transition into the RBL or RBS system. Armas and Hamlett like their paychecks so you cant blame them for whoring themselves out. They have to put bread on the table like the rest of us.

This reminds me of the disaster the knicks faced when phil jackson was as the GM he forced his triangle offense system onto his coaches....the problem was that he didnt have jordan or pippen

Hes obviously not serious.

Yea im messing with you guys.

I never would have guessed sitting in a 90% filled RBA in 2010 watching a 33 year old Henry (by 33i mean a legend with still something in the tank)putting on a show and reading about our blossoming academy and making shrewd Joel Lindpere type signings.

I thought that was the beginning of something special around here.  Now were a farm team with little to no ambition to be relevant in this market on and off the field.  The team is hemorrhaging fans to the point of tarping off big chunks of the upper deck.

Im not saying anything no one hasnt heard already...just venting my frustration in a weird way with suggesting Sane and Lingard.

Surprised Parker BWP and Kaku all on bench.

If theyre good enough for bench why not start them, I have faith in Tarek, RZA at 10 and White.

Lets do this!!!!!

Clearly you dont understand tactics. The objective is to fall behind 3-0 early...then bring on your big guns off the bench and hope to salvage a draw

#1345862 What is the front office doing?

Posted by cBr on 10 May 2019 - 07:29 AM

Even if the academy pumps out a tyler adams every other year it will make very little difference in the long run bc we wont have the new phenom play with the existing young phenom bc the first guy would have been sold already.

The fact that this team did nothing to replace Adams at that CM spot shows you that winning  isnt at the top of their priority list.

Ppl bring up that this is a very similar team that won the SS last year.  But lets not forget that most of our opponents FOs didnt sit on their hands this offseason and last summer window. Last summers big signings like Ibra and Rooney have settled and are paying dividends.

#1345302 RBNY will not sign Messi

Posted by cBr on 02 May 2019 - 06:29 AM

Reports out of Spain are saying its a done deal and Messi will be here July 1.

Ives saying that its a non DP deal and that he will be a GAM/TAM player.

Further proof that you can actually built a championship level team without splashing major cash

Now if someone can give me a hand removing this tarp

#1344575 Thierry Henry linked to RB coaching role

Posted by cBr on 18 April 2019 - 06:57 AM

Youd assume Hamlett would give armas the benefit of a he doubt since they go way back.  This seems like Austrias call

The main issue here is that other teams got better while we did nothing this offseason and lost Adams to boot.

My hope is that when Henry calls the FO asking for an upgrade to the roster help theyd listen and respect his opinion.

#1344216 More teams are eager to spend money

Posted by cBr on 14 April 2019 - 12:43 PM

With these new stadiums popping up like MN United,DC Etc....More teams will be added to the list of clubs eager to spend money to add to the seattles, tfcs, lafcs, galaxy etc.

You could probably even add Chicago to that list once they move back to Soldier Field. You can bet that Atlanta and Miami will obviously take that side too.

The next CBA vote may swing in favor of the teams that want to spend more this time giving them an extra mechanism to bolster their roster. (Who knows that that would be)

Meanwhile were tarping off sections and selling top level talent without trying to replace them
