Personally, I hope that this'll get George R. R. Martin off his ass to finish the books (or at least A Dance with Dragons). But yeah, it could be pretty bad ass.

I've been following the developments in this project pretty closely. For those super fans out there, here are some good resources:

http://www.makinggameofthrones.com/

The casting has been solid. HBO's putting more money to it than any other project ever. George R.R. Martin is heavily involved. All good things to hear.

i'm assuming now that he hasn't finished the damn books because he's been working on this...

either way thanks for the links. i'm fucking excited... so far it looks like the casting is great and HBO is really backing it

No, I think he's trying to finish the books faster now. I heard that at a recent Fantasy Con everyone's #1 question to him was "how are you feeling? Are you gonna make it?" as if he'd die before finishing.

Love the casting of Sean Bean as Ned Stark and Mark Addy as Robert Baratheon. Not only shows good choices but also that HBO is putting some real effort into this. I was also pleased to see Martin's comments upon visiting the set.

If you're trying to geek-check me. . .

you succeeded.

I don't remember Robb's sword name, I wasn't sure he had one. Ned's sword is "Ice".

not at all... i just didn't remember... Ice now sounds familiar.

...

speaking of the book how's the reading going for legion?

...

you know what part of this book always confused me... was the guy who lived on the island with the red woman... i always felt that section was weird.

also i never really could grasp what martin was doing with cateilyn and robb... won't go on more than that for fear of spoilers

...

k SPOILER ALERT...

so definitely this has everything to do with jon and the girl targeyan who's name i can't remember.... danyerys i think.

My brother told me this power Metal band Blind Guardian has a song dedicated to ASOIAF called A voice in the dark

I remember reading and thinking "Man, that guy who played Ronon on Stargate Atlantis would make a perfect Khal Drogo" lo and behold I looked on IMDB and Jason Momoa will be playing him, this show is gonna be epic!

And of course Peter Dinklage as Tyrion
