Oooooh lookie!

RB Arena looks pretty bad ass.

Outside

Inside

The city that never sleeps meets the Supporters group that never goes to bed.

A few questions:

Is Harrison, NJ far from NYC?

Will some people end up at the Sears Tower anyway?

Will there be multiple Drunks Of The Week?

Do they serve tacos in New Jersey?

Will New York be as dreadful next year as they were this year?

Is there a shower for Iamthatiam to shit in?

Will I get a plane ride with Linda Pickle again? (Mile High Club, HERE I COME)

Will this be the first roadie that one of LARS is murdered or incarcerated long term?

Who's crashing with Luvkeane?

Are there any more blue scarves?

Oi, new York can be so humid, it's like a sauna in there!

This is going to end up like the azteca thread. All we need is zero saying he's there, and the thread really gets started!

I'd really like to do this. It all depends on when it lands.

I've got an older sister in Manhattan that I will want to go see for a while when I'm there, so I doubt that I'll be in the "Drunk of the Day" competition for anything but game day.

I'm there, provided the game isn't on a Thursday.

I'm going to New york/New jersey this friday, I'll be sure to do all the reconnaissance needed. I do know that RB Arena was built a little far from the nearest train stop and that you gotta walk 20 mins to get to the stadium.

Way too far to know 100% if I can do this with any certainty, but it's way high on my list for obvious reasons (my Drunk of the Week brethren), and I also have friends in NYC I'd love to reconnect with....

This has all the makings of an epic trip.

I am there. I have only been to New York once and I was 13, and it was for like two days. This is going to be a fun trip

On getting there...

When we were there two years ago, we took he Port Authority direct bus service from the PA Terminal on 42nd Street, but that was a Beckham game, so I don't know if they did that for every match or just the big ones.

Getting there was great, getting out a nightmare - we waiting about 2 hours for the bus after the match.

Edit: I checked the Red Bulls Website and it was an every game thing, but they changed the service last year to a train from Penn Station to Secaucus (John Sayles, holla!) and then a bus shuttle to the stadium. So who knows about next year. Second Edit: After reading the Arena website and looking at a map, it's only a couple of blocks from the nearest train station, so no big deal.

And as we're thinking about NY, be sure to consult this thread.

WOW...those pics are AWESOME ;) :o Hopefully, the "Dead Bulls" will be improved next year!!

First, the obvious question...if the game is anytime between July 4th & Labor Day, it could be NASTY humid

As for Harrison, NJ's proximity to NYC...I can't say but it shouldn't be much different than Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, which is about a 20-30 minute drive from midtown Manhattan. And the great thing is that there should be PLENTY of buses to make the trip to/from the Arena & not worry about having to drive, you drunkards  And I might add that you don't want to stay in New Jersey...not much to see or do...so, even if it's a bit more expensive, stay in Manhattan & you can still get to the Arena in a snap!!

Depending on my job & money situation, as well as the date of the game, I might be in. My mom lives there, so there's no need for a hotel & I haven't been back since I moved to L.A. in 2002!!

L.A. Galaxy - 4-Time & Back-to-Back MLS Cup Champions!!

Brady Hoke - returning U-M to glory...Go, Blue!

USA Soccer - Don't Tread On Us!

Colombia - returning to the World Cup after 16-year hiatus!

I wouldn't worry about the logistics, our ESC friends are more than willing to show us the same hospitality we showed them at the MLS Cup.

We'll mock them mercilessly for sucking during the game and have another epic party with them afterwards, they'll make sure we are taken care of.

Thanks Bones, I'd been looking for that thread for a while. What's the website to get a weekly pass? My buddies in NJ don't know how to get around in their own metropolitan

I'm interested to attend the G's v NY @ RB Arena match, but it depends on a few things:

the G's MLS schedule (I'd like to attend multiple G's games)
date of the game
cheap flights availability
vacation & work

Don't you guys get 5 weeks of paid vacation, mandatory by law? I wish our lawmakers had the balls to do that
