This. Remember them trying to make Mike Labelle happen as the in-match host?

They know what they want.

Ugh, that guy. Always pushing him as if he is our own version of Javier Hernandez or Carlos Vela. He just plays FIFA!

#1358650 Interest in Alex Bono?

Bono was earning $350K last season. Why bring him in to potentially just be our #2 when he is on that much.

The vast majority of teams in the league aren't playing that game. Most American leagues have a handful of teams with owners who are intent on spending as much as possible to try to be win (NFL has Kraft and Jones, MLB has the Dodgers and Yankees, NBA has the Lakers and Mavericks) while the majority of owners just want to make a profit off their investment and disinterested in winning. Even European soccer leagues, the vast majority of teams are not even really trying to win titles.

I mean, just in the Eastern Conference we have teams like Toronto, Inter Miami, New York City, Atlanta, and maybe soon Chicago who are willing to spend the money.

#1357306 What would it take for Red Bull to sell?

Because we are 2nd to last in the league in spending.

Yep. That is my point. Bet we are close to last in marketing/promo spend as well.

How much do we want to bet that the organization will let Brian White and Tom Barlow fight it out for the starting striker position and then in the summer, see if they need to bring in one?

Let's not forget the crap product that the Metrostars put on the field playing in the non-descript Giants Stadium.

At least Red Bull has given us a fantastic stadium, a consistently competitve team and some promising young players.  Sure I'd like them to spend some more $'s - but all-in-all I enjoy watching the team play.  And I really like the game day experience.

We could do far worse.

And? I mean, I doubt anyone would argue that it could be worse but it could also be a lot better. I am happy for the stadium, it looks great, and I love that we developed some players from the academy and that we won 3 Supporters Shields in 6 years yet, despite all that, this team still feels super, super cheap.

Every season it felt like we were a step or two away from an MLS Cup appearance at least but those additions would never be made. It has become clear that we are considered #3 in the Red Bull rankings, especially when we lose our best ever head coach to an assistant job in Leipzig and our best homegrown player for just $3 million while Vancouver Whitecaps sell their homegrown for over $10 million. Even Brek Shea went for more than what we got for Adams when Shea went to Stoke.

Heck, they left us with Chris Armas after Marsch left. The guy's resume includes, besides being an assistant to us, being the coach of the Adelphi University women's side. RB Leipzig get the best young coach in Germany and Salzburg gets the best American coach right now.

And that goes before talking about the branding, lack of marketing or community outreach etc.
