I could care less, I have him on ignore, but I'm curious to see how these kinds of things are handled here. Considering how crazy fans get during the year, theres going to be more of this in the future.

If you want to say ridiculous things and act like a jackass, go ahead, that's your first amendment right, but you don't have a right to do that on this board on "free speech" grounds. Likewise, you have even less of a right to be free from criticism.
Just as you have a right to free speech, as an independent organization, the board moderators have a right to lay down a code of conduct, whether spoken or unspoken, and expect the posters to adhere to it. (IE: You can't tell off your boss, take a shit on his desk, call him an ignorant fuckhead douchebag and expect not to get fired, even though he never told you you couldn't take a shit on his desk. I may not be a lawyer yet, but I'm pretty sure you have no "free speech" case there.) I think in this case, 17 smileys in a row, referring to one's self in the third person in English/German and making posts that have no basis in reality is the message board equivalent of the above situation.

But Big Soccer already exists to create a fan/family friendly place. We're Chicago supporters, not thought police. I post plenty of things that are stupid. Ban me if you're going to ban him.

Someone can post a stupid clip of a fat kid on a rollercoaster, and while its not analyzing Tennyson, it creates a freindly discourse. I cant think of one time a typical Herr-type post didn't hijack the thread. Our current discussion on how the forum is run/free speech being the rare exception.

does anyone know the Herr personally? How do we know he is even a Fire fan? As far as I am concerned, until he posts a pic of himself at a match, he could very well be a Dallas or Revs supporter here just to be a disruptor. Just sayin.
How dare anyone question whether or not the Herr is a Fire fan!!!! The Herr will be sport'n a customized Fire jersey with "The Herr" on the back come next season. Ya'll just wait!!!!

Don't do that. That's worse than pink sports team parephenalia for girls even though the uniform doesn't have pink anywhere. Putting your name/pseduonym on a pro team's jersey is not acceptable unless you're on the team, PERIOD.

I'm not waitin 4 months just to see some clown in TP with a Fire jersey. (Someone will add a photoshopped pic of RMcD to a quote now). Go ahead, post your pic. And what Shanks said. How dare anyone question whether or not the Herr is a Fire fan!!!! The Herr will be sport'n a customized Fire jersey with "The Herr" on the back come next season. Ya'll just wait!!!!
To hell with it. I'm about to do something I have never done before on this board..... He is on ignore.

I think it's fine to put whatever you want on a pro team's jersey. I mean it's your jersey and you're the one paying for it, so why not have whatever you want on it.
