Lol no it is not, but more importantly, what club in a top 6 league is going to try and take a guy who has failed in Scotland and in MLS on loan at any price, much less a 7-figure one?
It's not that it CAN'T be done, it's that a loan move is a three-party decision. You need to have a team willing to take Klimala on loan at his full wages to get it off the books here, and he has to want to go. I'm hard-pressed to think of a team in Europe that could afford Klimala that's eagerly seeking a striker who can't finish.
If Salzburg wants to do some fun accounting tricks, like Chicago did with Aliseda to Lugano, that's one thing. But an open market? I'm not confident.
According to Statista, in 2019-2020, the avg salary in Premier league was $3.9 Million, La Liga is $2.75 Million, Seria A is $2.23 million, Bundesliga $2.05 million and Ligue 1 $1.54 million.
Again, Klimala's salary is not a lot compared to European standards. he makes $1 million. the difference between us and those euro clubs is that we need him to be the guy who can score 13-20 goals a season. he will most likely end up with 7 to 9 goals which is what would be expected from a non-DP forward but for a DP that is a disappointment.
In Europe, he will not be a star or starter. he would be the 3rd-5th option on the team. teams take gambles on prospects like Klimala to see if they can unlock that finishing touch. At 23, he is still considered a good prospect and he is an EU citizen. he still has 2 more years to prove to the world that he is not a bust. if he figures his finishing, he can be $15-to-20-million-dollar player.
my position is that we can do better with a journeyman MLS striker as the starter. if we have to dump Klimala at an of these euro clubs to bring in an established striker from Europe or South America. then you do it.
