I think there are some pretty big qualitative differences in style, regardless of overall talent level.

I think of Wilman Conde, who was pretty good in the league, and then Jamison Olave, who went from being a standard starter in Columbia to one of the best MLS centerbacks I've ever seen.

And then I think of Jorge Rojas and Sergio Galvan Rey, two of the greatest players in Colombian league history, who were pretty shitty in MLS.

So it varies.

definitely.... It's hit or miss.. To me, I will say some footballers are suited for certain systems.. And Sergio Galvan Rey and Jorge Rojas were suited for the style of play and system of Atlético Nacional and Once Caldas.. Iirc they went back to the Colombian league and excelled again...

More recently.. We have Emerson Rodríguez of Miami.. Who was very raw and stood out at Millonarios, but I think he's been mediocre at Miami... We'll see how the kid that RSL got Carlos Gómez. I think he will be cusp MLS all star level, we'll just have to wait and see...

Cesar Haydar is not a stand out in the Colombian league, he's not even first string for his own club, so I see no reason to bring him in...

Kevin Mantilla is a stand out for Santa Fe and he plays for the U20 National for Colombia... That's something I would support.. Plus just watching the two play Mantilla ticks all the boxes.

If we have money to burn, I would get a CB

I agree, I always liked what Shepp said about the spine of the team being the most important.

It's true though....

I agree... Losing Long was huge and hopefully they will sign someone who can step in and not make his departure felt
