Chris completed his first season of high school track tonight by finishing sixth in the varsity 400 and 200 meters in the Sierra League (Div. 1) finals.

He fell out of the blocks in the 200 and didn't run all that well but did run 52.56 (auto) in windy conditions to break his school's freshman record of 52.84 for the 400. He was the only freshman boy in our league to compete on the varsity level at league finals.

Next up for Chris in the 400 is the Bones family record of 51.9 (I hated and feared running the 400) and Roman's LARS record of 48.05.

He'll now move into the Junior Olympic season and move a bit further out, running the 400 and 800. I suspect the 800 will ultimately be his best race. He'll be running at the HDC on the weekend of June 10th and 11th. Plan on coming out early to see him run before the G's match against United on Sunday the 11th.

All the white guys are taking over track!

Known fact:

Skinny white guys (Wariner: 6'1"-150; Chris: 5'10"-124) intimidate the brothers.

All the best to Jr on his journey to the Ivy League.

Take no prisoners, and learn something we can use!
Nobody ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public.

The Dunning–Kruger effect is a cognitive bias in which "unskilled people reach erroneous conclusions and make unfortunate choices but their incompetence robs them of the metacognitive ability to realize it." The unskilled therefore suffer from illusory superiority, rating their own ability as above average.
