If no soccer is played this year, there would be at least a 17-month gap between games. Many fans may have turned their attention elsewhere, and might not return.
A difference between the league & the players of 1% is probably $3-4 million. Surely MLS can absorb that.
I can see why the players oppose attendance clauses.
Look at the way RB posts its BS numbers.
Other teams could easily do the same.
Even legit numbers could be manipulated.
We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

With hard times already upon us, the last thing MLS needs to do is cancel the season.

About $150K per team. The owners can easily afford that. They are just hoping that the player's union blinks. Would you give up most of your yearly salary for an extra 1% giveback? For many players, that would be $1,500 or less.
"They better keep playing that RB Arena update because that unbuilt stadium is the only positive thing about this soft-drink-selling, coached-by-a-dumbass, trading-good-players-for-shit, hopeless, retarded, club." - MetroFanatic
"It was always six weeks away. Every month, [Nick Sakiewicz] would say, we're six weeks away from the stadium. It's been the longest six weeks of my life." - Mike Petke
"I think every country can learn everything about each other. If the whole world can be together, it can be good." - Mathias Jorgensen
"I want to give you lots of titles for your happiness. Lots of hugs.” - Fabio

On a related note, PBFC hasn't won a league have in 239 days.

We should all be on the D train right about now,
heading from Legends to YS for the 3 PM game.
Damn, really wild when you stop to think.

I do. There is a lot of fucked up (and downright appalling) shit out there today. I just want 2 hours of normalcy (misery?) per week.

Amen to that, I miss the hell out of a good / bad / ugly time at RBA. The whole ritual of a trip to Harrison. A good warm Saturday oriented around seeing a game. Feels silly to mourn those experiences, but I suppose in this company no such disclaimers are needed.
Shit, give me a 0-0 away game I plan my day around just to end up snoozing through half of.
RED. BULL. OUT.

While things were very intense over the last few days, there has been a major breakthrough between the @MLSPA and @MLS league office. “Cautiously optimistic” as 1 more detail is being discussed and pending the new agreement/CBA being ratified, a lockout should be avoided.

and lack of production. sure that wonder half volley at RFK when Solli had a multi assist game was amazing...but that was the exception, not the norm.
