Had no idea that he was very sick, I don't follow F1 like I used to, I have no further comment or other info other than these articles from google.

He's been dead to me for years.

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

Rumors had circulated for years that Red Bull would sell their sports teams when Dietrich passes.

With how well their F1 and Leipzig have done recently, I am hopeful that the first team to be sold will be RBNY, but that's once they remember we exist when they are looking at their line items in the P/L report.

Won't be missed in NYC, because he was never here.
Of course, we will probably see some gestures,
like black armbands or a moment of silence.
Cannot see MLS FO getting worked up over this,
unless it is to pull up a list of potential new owners.

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

Figure even if Mateschitz dies tonight, the club will be RBNY for at least a couple years until Red Bull decides what they want to do, and then make a sale.

But think of the people at MLS who could potentially wring in big name investors to re-brand and in many ways re-launch a club in the nation's biggest city… and maybe you even do it in 2026, the same year we host a World Cup in the States.

Lots of possibilities.

co-tenant is called Gotham...

would line up perfectly to be named...METRO-polis FC.

If they wait a few years to sell the team things are going to be even more bare bones then they already are.

Going to look like an English lower division club trying to avoid administration. Academy kids, draft picks, and whatever they can get from GAM trades.

Id hope for a quick sale, otherwise its going to be really bleak for this team.

An alive absentee owner is the same as a dead one: absent.

If you scan YouTube looking for Bradley Wright-Phillips, youll find numerous goal compilations, a few interviews and, eventually, an excerpt from the grime mixtape series Lord of the Mics.
