Today was as cold as I remember being at a Fire game. The last two home openers were both pretty cold and rainy but I don't think you can put them against today's conditions. During the second half I went to meet a friend in the terrace and the swirling winds under the roof made it even worse. I think the best place to be was, without a doubt, in the thick of Section 8.

Anyways....I don't expect anyone to have stats but can anyone definately say this was NOT the coldest Fire game in club history?

I wasn't there today, but the first leg Playoff game against New England in 2006 was pretty damn cold too.

I think the coldest Fire game I ever attended was against CSD Municipal, March of 2002.

There was a pretty damn cold one at NSF in 2004 too, but I can't remember it all too clear.

Shit sucked, my feet were numb and my hands were too cold to take out of my pockets to clap.

I interned in the FO for a little while and trust me they are so dumb had they payed off the refs they probably would have presented them one of those huge checks during halftime on the field.

i seem to remember recent home openers being much wetter, if not actually colder, and frankly i'll take colder over wetter any day.

only other thing i have to say is thank god for glittens and long underwear.

Yeah, that one was god damn cold. Although the game recap from that 2007 game says it was 31 degrees out. Either way, it was damn cold.

I'd also nominate the 11-9-2009 home playoff game against DC United for a cold MF'ing game.

I can't compare either of them to yesterday as I wasn't there.

Id rather have the Sunday day games early in this weather than in July when it is 95 and 100% humidity.  It was only cold if you didnt dress for it.  Everyone knew it was going to be cold and windy.  Wear a hat, gloves, everyone should have a scarf, hood.  Thank God it didnt rain on us though.  That would have made it really bad.  But it should only get warmer from here on out, right?!

i agree with you about the timing of the games but come on... the vast majority of the people that were "prepared" but not in the warm comforts of S8 were still freezing their asses off. also, it definitely rained in several different spurts. i know this cuz i was extremely wet and cold in 111.
