#1318216 Preseason schedule

Posted by elf on 04 February 2018 - 03:35 PM

Right now I am concern  abt the defense. 6 goals in two games is not good.not sure who is at fault or if it's the back ups that are doing a terrible job but we need some. CLean sheets

Don't worry, they clearly had a backup plan.
Going with the team already there and hoping somebody cheap comes through in the summer.

This could also be a way to negotiate. Lets see what happens by the time the window transfer closes

So at the end of the day you guys are satisfied with another season with no hardware, because you believe the hype that nyrb is building something?

I'd be more than happy to eat my words, but right now you guys are drinking the look aid.

I want to win now not in 2 - 3 years.  This is year 3 of marsch.  He is supposed to win now not continue to build.

And I am not being negative.  I am just disappointed that we had 4 opportunities to win hardware last year and we came away with Zippo.  So in instead of doubling down, were bringing in projects.

To be honest, I think we r a better team without sasha. Just look at the playoff game against  toronto. We were a much more dangerous team when sasha was ejected then when he was playing.

All the new guys could be flops, and I still think we can make the playoffs with the talent we have on the team.

Sasha's stats is more a product of the system then a product of the individual.

I can see felipe or adams play that position and have similar stats.

You missed Perrinelle - the guy played in 25 games for us last year.  Redding is definitely not enough reinforcement for the defense.

Is perrinelle definitely  gone? He seems to always make the team in training camp.

Agudelo's selfish douchiness is what kept him on the bench, with Henry's blessing.

Aguedelo is part of the generation of disappointment for the usmnt. A lot of hype and entitlement for guys that did nothing. This includes... hamid..johnson... kitchen...opara...valentin...adu...corona...diskerud...okugo...bunbury...gyau...and shea...sarkodie

So many busts in that generation. A lot of the blame goes to Klinsmann for not integrating them to the national team and mls for not doing a good job developing that talent

Lawrence........  ....Adams

I think this is the starting 11. I think keita will start and be a suprise.

#1316097 Rumors of BWP's demise exaggerated?

Posted by elf on 03 January 2018 - 11:37 AM

There is a lot more wear and tear in the midfield position when you compare it to the forward position.

BWP is a classic poacher. Doesn't rely on speed. He just knows how to position himself. That is why I don't think we will see rbny trade him. He will continue to be productive as long as he gets service

What will go away will be his ability to create his own shot which was never a strength.

Many people posting on this board think they are good enough to be RBNY head coach and sporting director simultaneously.

If Klinsmann can do it, then folks on these boards can do it.

Davis is a crafty player. I would be shocked if he is not a starter. I think he is going to have a break out year when it comes to production if sasha is not in the line up.

#1314670 Report: $1.7M bid in for Romanian RW

Posted by elf on 04 December 2017 - 10:38 AM

From the videos I noticed online, the romanian dude can dribble.  Looks like he always finds a way out of a tight situation which could be helpful when a team bunkers down.

My concern with him is that I barely noticed him taking any shot from midfield.

Looks like they r making room for this years draft picks

#1314534 Would it surprise anyone...

Wouldn't trade Robles away for any keeper in the league.   Sub Meara in for Luis and we likely don't make the playoffs this year.

You can also say that rbny could of used that 400k salary at cb or mid and we would be in mls cup since meara can do that job.

There's no reason to have a "rebuilding" year in MLS.  You can go from shit to pretty good in an off-season really easily (see: Fire, Chicago), so why punt a whole season just because you get rid of a couple of players?  The pool of potential impact players in MLS, globally, is enormous.

chicago is going to fall apart next season since they are loaded with old players.

Also, dont think its a good idea to constantly rebuild with old players.

#1314176 Expansion Draft 2017

Posted by elf on 20 November 2017 - 03:41 PM

got to protect Sacha, you only get $50k if a player is picked up in allocation draft.  We should be able to get more than that for the back to back assist leader even if the team wants him gone.

Isnt he a free agent? Why protect a guy who might walk? I would be shocked if he doesnt push fo a dp contract due to his production. I think rbny should not get suckered in and pay for what he did in the past but try to predict what he will do in the future. His future position is withdrawn forward at his age. Having two forwards at an afvance age is problematic.
