I wonder why they didnt make the move before the 8/31 season ticket renewal date? I couldnt dont have been the only one that was hesitating because of the coaching situation.

Especially since the decision had to have been made already. They actually looked better, despite the loss, than they did against City or in NE. Maybe something happened behind the scenes?

Alls well that ends well, I guess.

As they said, in this business, you are measured on results.   That DC loss would be an obvious last straw.   Derby losses have traditionally been a last straw for many a struggling manager.

Good.

One problem with this team solved. Now let's fix the others.

If you scan YouTube looking for Bradley Wright-Phillips, youll find numerous goal compilations, a few interviews and, eventually, an excerpt from the grime mixtape series Lord of the Mics.

Fair enough, but you would think we win more games playing like we did against DC than we would playing like we did against City.  Doesn't matter now though, the important thing is we are rid of him.

Gives me confidence in Thelwell...he got a large enough sample from Armas, saw it wasnt good enough, and ripped the bandaid off...

Welp, we got Thelwell. Now let's go get Nuno! (kidding)

As others have said, I think best odds are that someone with European pedigree, of some level, will be the successor.

I think pandering to the Ironbound or Peruvian locals with a coach could be far more effective (and cheaper) than with any player or players we could get.    I am almost certain it will be a factor.

I would bet new coach is from Europe. Thelwell will want to put his own stamp on the team.

And yet, Hamlett still has a job... He really is the staff cockroach.

I think it's pretty clear by now that Hamlett's role is to explain what a GAM is and how much a 3rd-round pick in the SuperDraft is worth. That's about it, thank fuck.

WOW

Right or wrong - Sorry he lost his job.

Very surprised it happened now.  thought he would have time with new players until the end of the season in 2 months while they looked for someone to come in Nov/Dec unless he really stepped it up.

also, Messi Player Coach now!

Bradley Wright-Phillips "I prefer it at Red Bull Arena, but it was OK. I could imagine it being good for a baseball crowd.

I mean, yea Armas wasn't the only problem this team had.  And, he may have not even been the biggest issue.  He was a problem though and this is the first step in, what is hopefully, the right direction for this team.

Let's bear in mind that Red Bull seems to have a global system that they want to play.  I would think that any coach that they bring in will have to be someone willing to implement the system.  That may limit the possibilities.

I was an Armas supporter for a while, but these last few matches the team just looked completely clueless and helpless.  There didn't seem to be any system in place in those games.
