He signed a new deal, he is no longer on his entry-level MLS contract. Simlarly, when both White and Muyl signed their 2nd contract, they earned just north of 200k, so it seems like it's the standard rate for your avg 2nd MLS contract. It's not like we're paying heavy above market for him, but I do see that it might be better to have an HG or a RB2 promoted guy in that defensive fwd position, cuz a HG/reserve team promoted guy won't count against the cap since he'd be in slot 21-30 on the Supplemental roster. 

Muyl went from 60/70k in the first 2 years to 115/130 for the next 2 before signing a 240k contract (and now at 330 in Nashville). Barlow's 55-55-95-190 progression is an impressive jump in year 4.

If the season goes as Barlow's gameplay goes, he'll play every single game until the very last one and miss it because of something simple like he didn't get to the bus on time. And Shep will say he did everything right except find the bus stop.

With how bad Manoel appears to be and Klimala's injury/lack of soccer talent, I do not see how Barlow does not play in the last two games.

I think it would go terribly. He is really bad on the ball. Nevermind the defensive instincts and tackling deficiencies.

He should be very good at not scoring own goals.
