Current contract situations )

So on contract

Coronel

Mina-Nealis-XXXXXX-Tolkin

Amaya-Stroud

Luq-Morgan

BurkeVanzier

Subs : Meara, Marcucci, Ofori, Donkor, Ngoma, Manoel

Options to pick up :

Edelman - Yes
Harper - Yes
Nocita - Maybe
Ndam - Maybe

Really depends on what RBNY feel they have in their pipeline to take over the Supplemental Spots. Im not sure there is anyone down there to make the step up.

Reid - No
Duncan - No

Out of the unknowns,

Reyes - Yes
Omir - Yes if he renews at our near his current salary.
Bento - Id like to give him another year to marinate
Dru - Maybe
Dylan - Maybe
Sserwada - No
Wiki - No
Barlow - No in the strongest possible terms

Things to do (in order of importance).

1) Re-Sign Reyes

2) Upgrade Luqs and Burkes spot with DPs. Keep Burke as depth, trade or sell Luq

3) Have a Plan B ready for when Tolkin leaves

4) Figure out what you have in RBNY II, and who can be brought up into the first team. Not sure how many players are ready (Kasule, maybe Mullings, and Im not sure who else)

Seeing red has Schneider on - out tomorrow

Bradley Wright-Phillips "I prefer it at Red Bull Arena, but it was OK. I could imagine it being good for a baseball crowd.

Let me guess. We know we need some reinforcements. Always on the lookout to get some help, but it had to be the right fit. Everyone getting a full preseason will be extremely important for next year. Need some luck with injury and suspensions.

Who know ivo was short for jochen!!

Listened to total soccer with David gaas today
Had a good point as in who are the Red Bulls now?
They dont sign stars they are not feeder club talent development is ok
They talked about how it was clearer and more fun in 2010-2019 with 2 clear eras

Should anyone that has an contract option have it picked up? The team could transfer/trade those under contract (Tolkin, etc.) but if they want to remake the roster they need the flexibility to do so.

We actually have a lot of good contracts that are worth $$ if we were to do a trade in MLS. The main guys I would cut/sell are:
Yearwood, Amaya, Barlow, Manoel and Vanzier.

Ssebuufu and kasule should get more minutes with first team.

The only team that would look at Barlow is St. Louis

I feel like taking a year off from this team. Just check back in around October 2024. Might be good for the mental health.

I have a feeling that a lot of people have done this, but never returned ... and are all the better for it.

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

For me I'm doing this based off of us actually spending this offseason but being reasonable at the same time (NOT expecting us to go all out like the Miami summer spending).

GK (This group is fine)

Coronel- Keep

Meara- Keep

Marcuci- Keep

RB  (Need 1 starter quality)

Duncan- Don't pick up option

Dylan Nealis- Sell

Juan Mina- Keep

CB (Need 1 or 2 CBs)

Reyes- Keep and try to extend long term

Sean Nealis- Keep

Ndam- Out

Nocita- Depth piece or replace if not good enough for 4th choice.

LB (Need a Back up LB or possibly 2 if tolkin goes to Europe)

Tolkin- Keep

Ofori- Keep and just let him marinate with RB2 since he missed all of this season.

CM (Need a #10 passer like Klejstan/kaku and another veteran CM to help the young guys grow)

Edelman- Keep

Yearwood- Sell

Stroud- Keep

Sswerwaada- Keep and just let him marinate with RB2 since he missed all of this season.

Estrela- Keep and just let him marinate with RB2. He's still so young.

Donkor- Keep and just let him marinate with RB2. He's still so young.

Luqinhas- Sell him for a big name upgrade DP.

Amaya- Keep

Wiki- Either sell him to upgrade the back up AM spot or keep him with RB2 to continue to get playing time.

Wingers (Need a Starting quality winger to pair with morgan)

Morgan- Keep

Omir- Try to resign to long term.

Ngoma- Keep and just let him marinate with RB2/bench piece for senior team. He's still so young and needs gametime after a missed year.

Harper- Keep.

Forwards (Need 2 strikers)

Dante- Keep

Manoel- Keep as a bench spot

Burke- Sell (always injured and was finishing like Barlow)

Barlow- Do not pick up option.

Positions of need-

CB-1 or 2 (3rd CB plus another depth piece if nocita isn't good enough)

LB-1 or 2 (back up LB and a starter depending on tolkin)

RB- 1 (starter quality)

CM- 1 (veteran guy for experience replacing dru)

AM- 1 DP type signing to replace luqinhas

Winger- 1 starter quality (omir, harper and ngoma could be the back ups)

Striker- 2 (starter and backup)

Figure out what you have in RBNY II, Not sure how many players are ready (Kasule, Davi Alexander  and Im not sure who else)

My few-beers-deep opinions

Keep

Vanzier

Tolkin - He'll be sold eventually, but keep him if the price isn't right

Edelman

Amaya - Hot take, I like Amaya a lot, but he's not good enough to be sold overseas and I wouldn't be disappointed to see him traded within the league if the price is right and we spent the money we got.

Reyes

Morgan

Stroud

Ngoma

S Nealis

Omir - Same note as Amaya above.

Harper

Coronel

Reid

Mina

Could Go Either Way

Sserwadda

Ofori

Nocita

D Nealis

Ndam

Meara

Luquinhas - Based on the price and a potential new coach

Estrela

Donkor

Wiki

Offload If Possible

Barlow

Yearwood

Duncan

Burke

Manoel

Cabezas - Dude's not going to be back, who cares

If you scan YouTube looking for Bradley Wright-Phillips, youll find numerous goal compilations, a few interviews and, eventually, an excerpt from the grime mixtape series Lord of the Mics.
