Welp, now's as good a time as any. I'm tired of smaller European league hopefuls, so my ask for 2024 is the top scorer in the USL Champo: Albert Dikwa! 20 goals this season, only 25 years old, and his contract just expired. Go get him, Hamlett!

I have asked for this over the years. Unfortunately, scoring prowess in the USL does not seem to carry over into MLS.

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

Yea, Barlow had 19 goals in 40 USL matches and then went on to score 14 in 123 MLS matches. I wouldnt be against bring a guy like that into camp or signing him as a cheap third option. But we need a guy that can score 20+ in MLS.

Cut Barlow and sign Dikwa to a reserve/supplemental contract fine.

Most of the issue with Barlow besides playing and starting nearly every match is that he occupies one of the valuable 20
senior roster spots.

With Coronel, Luqs, Manoel on the team + Large Brazilian community in Ironbound + Sister team in Brazil, I'd like to see this team bringing in a couple 18-20yo Brazilians on 1 year loans with options to buy. They should be doing this every year.

Established players are needed, but it feels like RBNY has some unique aspects that would make a young Brazilian guy feel more comfortable here than some other spots. Cultivating a pipeline would be a great way to supplement the academy.

Independent of this, big moves are needed for this team.

Agree and they should bring in big Brazilian name now and then Neymar post 26 World Cup as he is Red Bull athlete

Very true.  Of the last 10 USL top scorers, the only one who's had any impact at a higher level is Kevin Molina.

The rest have combined for 54 career MLS appearances and 1 goal.

There's a Philly washout named Faris Moumbagna who's scored 15 goals in Norway this season: https://www.transfer.../spieler/599663

Louicius Don Deedson, a Haitian-American, has 6 in 10 for Odense in Denmark: https://www.transfer...s/0?saison=2023

21-year-old Alexander Lind leads the Danish league with 10 goals in 14 for Silkeborg: https://www.transfer.../spieler/514895

6'4" former Serbian U19 striker Bojan Radulovic is this season's top scorer in Finland with 15 goals in 19 games: https://www.transfer.../spieler/516407

Another former Serbian U19 striker, Borisav Burmaz, has 7 in 13 for Serbia's 5th-placed team: https://www.transfer.../spieler/574658

Sebastian Nanasi has 11 goals and 7 assists as an attacking mid for Malmo in Sweden: https://www.transfer.../spieler/579928

If you were 18 and taller than 6', wouldn't you be motivated to change position after seeing this?

Could we pry 27 year old Gabigol away from Flamengo? Young enough, proven scorer, at least in Brazil, appeal to the Ironbound.

I was just looking at that yesterday.  Reports are saying that Man U is trying to get him, with maybe Antony going back to Brazil in the deal.

He's 27, and Flamengo paid 17.5 million Euros for  him four years ago.  He's still got a year left on his contract.  What do you think Flamengo would be asking - $10 million?

Anyway, we're not outbidding Man U for him, and I'm guessing he'd choose Man U over RBNY anyway.

Edit:  AC Milan might also be interested.

Its good suggestion 10 million should be good
Not sure why msn u wants him and apparent long term Liverpool fan if that matters

I've been wanting him to come to Metro for years... Or Jhon Kennedy from Fluminense
