Ex Hertha coach Sandro Schwarz will be our new coach, per German publication Bild:
https://m.bild.de/sp...www.google.com/

He coached Hertha into relegation and has been without a club since...not very inspiring, but then Marsch didn't exactly light it up in Europe either so maybe it's a non issue.

He was coaching Dynamo Moscow and did not get out immediately when Russia attacked Ukraine. Ugh.

Trying to decide if the Ukraine thing or the Hertha relegation thing are bigger red flags, or if his friendship with Klopp somehow negates all that.  Assume he runs the Klopp-style gegenpress?

Really surprised Sacramento and Hassenhutl are off the table.

I never know what to make of these sorts of hires. He's got experience well beyond the level of MLS, but his resume is such a bumpy road. Kinda think it just comes down to fit, hopefully its a good one since Schneider is clearly confident to make the move this early in the offseason.

Unless they know Haussenhutl is not interested and who knows with Sacramento

Bradley Wright-Phillips "I prefer it at Red Bull Arena, but it was OK. I could imagine it being good for a baseball crowd.

Please don't hire Kendall Roy. I mean.. the team talk in rap form would be epic.

Maybe "surprised" is the wrong word.  Disappointed.

Don't know how he as played recently, but here's a breakdown of what he did at Mainz

David Wagner is tight with Klopp (was his best man!) and besides a couple of miracle seasons at Huddersfield, he's been a complete dud as a manager.

Hasenhüttl will work again in Europe. His stint at RBL was great and, with the exception of his last year, he did well enough at Southampton.

It's not really fair to use winning percentage when evaluating a manager of lower midtable teams like Mainz and a dumpster fire Hertha. By that metric, the majority of managers in top 5 leagues are failures.

Still, this isn't the most inspiring news. Hasenhüttl would have been great, but he probably wasn't a realistic option.
