Omir is a MLS free agent, correct? Do you re-sign or not?

Last year's salary was 161K/173K.

Our top scorer, making peanuts.   Would seem a no brainer.    I don't see a lot of teams competing  for him, so I think we can resign him on a decent number.    That said, Bronx kid who  has  beaten up on the Smurfs, maybe they try and poach him from us.

Sign Omir and cut Harper

If you are picking up Harpers option, then Omir might be a roster number casualty.

Omir makes less and is more productive, but hell probably want a pay raise.

Depends on the number. Anything under 185/200 Id keep him as an end of the bench option.

If he is looking for substantially more, then release

I would keep him but I have a feeling that a Mexican team will outbid us.

He has value in MLS. From all our players, he had the most shots on target. I think that is his best skill and should be playing forward.

Manoel should be sold and omir should replace manoel's role on the roster but at a cheaper rate.

Harper should replace Omir's role.

I'd offer him about what he's making now and wishing him luck elsewhere if he's not happy with it. He's an OK finisher but that's about it. Can't pass and can't move the ball in the open field. Agree with elf that his skill set seems better suited for striker #4 instead of attacking mid.

FWIW if we do want to keep him, and it's all about money, I don't think we'll have a problem doing so. Omir is in a pretty unique in that he qualified for free agency while still on his "rookie" contract. Other teams can only offer like $15k or $25k more per year since his current salary is so low.

A guy like him would be important depth to have over the course of a long season. Keep him.

This all day
Experienced integrated depth with very reasonable price tag

Bradley Wright-Phillips "I prefer it at Red Bull Arena, but it was OK. I could imagine it being good for a baseball crowd.

Whoever asked to drop Harper is nuts?!  We need to keep them both.  They are cheap they are local ??

i actually think a lot of teams would be in for Omir (i.e. Colorado, Montreal). Now one thing that MLS hasn't explained well is the salaries teams can offer.  Looking at the CBA itself on page 101 looks like teams can offer the greater of 15% of prior year salary or 25k above maximum budget charge.  Based on this I'd expect someone to offer him at least 300k, which i think is too much for us.  For context Corey Baird is pulling in 500k in Houston

Long story short I'd only look to keep him if we got rid of Luqui and was used as Forsberg's backup/Morgan contingency given how much i think he will cost.

Ah thank you, I've been mistaken and my post before is wrong. Last time I looked at the CBA I misread it to say 25k above last year's salary, not the maximum budget charge.

I'd probably give him 350k. Harper is at 301k and I look at them as being similar in value. If other teams can't offer more than 300k than why overpay. I like him and want him to stay but he is not a lock starter.
This post is dedicated to all the slow defenders of the world. Godspeed! my brothers

Cam is not local, but I'd like to keep him.   He's fun to watch, can take on defenders 1v1, and gets a cross in as well as anyone we have had for a long time.

Omir had twice the goals in fewer shots than Manoel. Keep Omir, oust Elias.
