Training with Leipzig isn't a guarantee of anything other than that he's a good prospect. I hope Tolkin goes closer to the Tyler Adams route rather than the Mason Deeds route or the Keith Cardona route.

Agreed. I think Tolkin is the real deal and a bit of an Adams character.Training with Leipzig isn't a guarantee of anything other than that he's a good prospect. I hope Tolkin goes closer to the Tyler Adams route rather than the Mason Deeds route or the Keith Cardona route.
Mason Deeds is a senior this year and I still think he will be a decent pro if he hasn't burnt out. Dont see him in MLS at the moment but USL/NISA guy. The Georgetown/Penn State thing was a bit odd.
Cardona is the epitome of a player rushed overseas. Signed with RB Salzburg's feeder club in Austria, lasted a season before coming back and going to Indy Eleven (Rafi Diaz and Santi Castano were our 2015 GK prospects in the USL already). Lasted only a couple seasons as a pro.

If it makes you feel any better, Sean Davis went on at least one training stint in Germany too.

Did not make me feel better but I appreciate the effort!

Its better than bench time or wasting his time at left back in USL.
The New York Red Bulls previously kicked around Major League Soccer as the MetroStars with limited success. But after transforming under a new banner in 2005, the Red Bulls have become a force to be reckoned with in the Eastern Conference. The club has made leaps of progress since its previous incarnation and now has its focus on bringing the league title to New York. Good for him

Great news
People have short memories
Also multiple Galaxy players signed with unaffiliated clubs in Germany because they thought that was best for them as players.
Hopefully Tolkien does well and sees the path Adams set and says sign me up for the local club so I can a best of both worlds scenario.
Bradley Wright-Phillips "I prefer it at Red Bull Arena, but it was OK. I could imagine it being good for a baseball crowd.

hopefully this training stint shows him the path rather than going outside and sigining like this NYCFC player.
I am hearing a rumor that young American forward Augustus McGiff is joining Reading. The 2002-born Long Island native scored 19 goals in 20 games last season in the DA for NYCFC's U-16/17 team.
