Walk into the embassy and announce you are wearing a bomb and will set it off if they don't immediately give Rodgers a visa. After they do, just say "I was only kidding". I'm positive this plan will work well.

You'd better be kidding or you'll be cut down in a hail of full metal jackets by the Marines.

WHERE'S THAT IMMIGRATION LAWYER THAT LURKS THESE FORUMS WHEN YOU NEED HIM!?!?

hahah

So I have been pretty quiet on the issue of Luke's visa, frankly, because I have no clue as to what could possibly be going on. In my experience as an attorney, I have *never* had a client have to go the consulate three times for a single visa stamping process.

Trying to deduce what the issue is, Soler said recently:

“When they do their back-tracking, it’s reported somewhere – not by the police, but somewhere else – and they say “Oh, you should’ve told us this.’ That’s approximately what the matter is. It was nothing criminal just something they think they should have known, and as they weren’t told they are making things more difficult."

By way of background, when you apply for a visa at the consulate, you have to fill out a DS-160 form, which asks dozens of questions like "Were you ever a member of the National Socialist Party between 1933 and 1945?" and "Are you coming to the United States to engage in prostitution?" An applicant must answer these questions so that 1) they know if you were Nazi/prostitute and 2) if they later find out, and you answered "no" on the DS-160, the government can say you should be deported because, not only are you a Nazi/prostitute, but also a liar.

So apparently Luke "lied" by failing to report something on the DS-160.

My confusion is that other than 1) criminal issues and 2) violations of immigration laws, I can't think of anything else relavant that Luke would possibly failed to report (I'm guessing he wasn't a Nazi/prostitute). Apparently whatever Soler's referenced "it" is, it happened a long time ago, presumably before he allegedly overstayed his visa. And according to the GM, it's also not criminal in nature.

If anyone wants to spend their Friday night filling out the DS-160 (https://ceac.state.gov/genniv/) and try to figure out which question Luke was lying about, be my guest. Me? I'm going to.....sadly stay at the office and actually practice immigration law, instead of posting on MF.

Is it possible that Luke was supposed to specify instances in which he crossed the border into Canada for RBNY matches and maybe failed to properly do so? I forget if he went to Mexico last year.

I love it!

Luke Rodgers, male prostitute.

The New York Red Bulls previously kicked around Major League Soccer as the MetroStars with limited success. But after transforming under a new banner in 2005, the Red Bulls have become a force to be reckoned with in the Eastern Conference. The club has made leaps of progress since its previous incarnation and now has its focus on bringing the league title to New York. Nah, immigration service doesn't care about your travel outside of the US, unless its to North Korea, Cuba or the ilk. Improperly traveling to Canada would only affect his eligibility for Canadian visas.

He could turn tricks at halftime as long as he's scoring goals.

Probably easier to go through the information on this website, which lists the questions on the online form and the pull-down answers for each: http://www.immihelp....form-guide.html

Here's my guess at the question he held back on:

"Have you committed, ordered, incited, assisted, or otherwise participated in extrajudicial killings, political killings, or other acts of violence?"

The immigration authorities probably heard our little chant...

I was about to take up the challenge of finding which question Luke lied about but i don't feel like filling out a fake app. My guess from the first page is that he does have a telecode and he just doesn't know
