Thank you for keeping the Ethos of this club alive and well. Cheers, tonight is for you two as much as anyone.

This thread has dropped too far. Although I am a mostly lurker here, this is the home of the heart of the team. During the multiple bad times, I turned to this place to find other people that felt what I felt.

During this time of joy, there is no other place I would rather be. Thanks from the bottom of my Metro heart, guys.

I look forward to Dan somehow comparing this victory to fecal matter on SeeingRed! soon.

Tonight, I saw Mike Petke get emotional, John Wolyniec reminisce and many long time RBNY staffers overcome with joy for the night that was.

But seeing Dan and Brad tonight at press row, teary eyed, talking to club heroes, basking in the moment - that is what sports is all about.

Congrats to you both.  You deserve this night.

Thanks for the kind words, Nittany, and to everyone who was so incredibly gracious and supportive of two huge soccer nerds publicly making fools of themselves tonight (that means you, Dave). I've always been amazed at how well the Metro press corps has treated Dan and I over the years, but everyone there was just great to us all night.

As great as it was that a couple of Metro legends on the coaching staff led the current generation of Metro stars to glory this season, and as fantastic as it was to witness the occasion in person - with privileged access to all things Metro - the thing that pushed me over the edge when the final whistle blew was hearing the roar of the fans, that perfect sound of eighteen years of frustration and disappointment coming to an end.

I knew that among that beautiful noise were the voices of the same long-suffering fans that were so accommodating to me over the years, the ones that welcomed me with open arms at my first Metro home game in late 2003, through countless meet-ups, viewing parties, road games, and so on. Being able to share that moment with all of you is what made the night truly special.

I'm thankful for everyone - new or old - who visits the site, who has decided that our particular brand of madness is worthy of their time. Without you, tonight's victory would not have been the same.

There have been few positive constants with this franchise over the past 18 years, but since the founding of Metrofanatic, you have kept the flame burning no matter how dark the hour. Can't thank you enough for all you have done for our fan base.

Forza Metro!

Metrofanatic.com and the MF community is what sold me on supporting this club more seriously. Before coming here, I was a casual fan at best. Thanks Dan, Brad, everyone (even Sack and Harraby) who make this community what it is.

Thanks also to Mark and Dave, there's a reason why we have the league's best fanbase, and MF and Seeing Red are a massive part of that. No other team has as vivid and colorful a community as this, I fucking guarantee that.

Thanks Dan, don't know about this Brad guy...

Does Harraby still sponsor this site?  If so, thanks to him as well.  If not, good to see him disappear.

Dan and Brad,

On behalf of a very grateful Metro Nation. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you.

Thank you for creating this website, chronicling the great story that is Metro Football.

Without you two being the guardians of history, the gloriously historic moment that unfolded Sunday night would not be complete.

I think this sentence summed it up best:

"As great as it was that a couple of Metro legends on the coaching staff led the current generation of Metro stars to glory this season, and as fantastic as it was to witness the occasion in person - with privileged access to all things Metro - the thing that pushed me over the edge when the final whistle blew was hearing the roar of the fans, that perfect sound of eighteen years of frustration and disappointment coming to an end."

Amen, gentlemen. Among those voices was mine, screaming in absolute delirium after Sam's goal and that feeling of relief, joy and vindication after witnessing season after season of heartbreak and frustration. All the while wondering out loud when will this "That's So Metro" bullshit end? When will it be OUR turn to celebrate in the sun, not just for me, but for all of you guys as well.

On Sunday night, that question was finally answered.

It seems that the Football Gods FINALLY gave this franchise and thier loyal but long-suffering fanbase a break. I told two kids sitting next to me to enjoy it and take it all in. They will never know what that day meant for supporters like me. And we dearly hope and pray that it won't be another 18 years before this sort of thing happens again.

But if it ever does, I can take comfort that two guys that will be there keeping a record for all of us to see, debate and read through it all. Every match, every player, every coach, every defeat, every victory no matter how large or small. You will be there speaking for us.

Thank you for being the voice of Metro Nation.

Bless you both.

FORZA METRO!!!
