I am more concerned about Amaya at this point. He seems like he has no confidence
We were warned by Cincy fans that this is kind of how he is. Good player but not the type to take over a game as an elite attacker. I know a lot of people going into this season were hoping he'd transition back to the #6 role but that doesn't look to be in Struber's plans.
Love Duncan but it wouldn't be the worst thing to cash in during his contract year and use that money to keep Edwards around. That's how things should be working around here, move guys and have a suitable replacement lined up.
Im not saying its intentional its a cleared ball under pressure but Im saying I dont think Struber is upset about it being played there vs say clearing it to the sideline. I think they rather a lien drive there then knocked out of touch or beyond the backline
That's fair. Maybe my expectations are too high for a keeper, but I'd really prefer a guy of Coronel's price tag to do neither of those two things lol
We have gone full farm team and Struber doesnt even try to hide it. He doesnt care how many mistakes are made or how many points it costs. If there is even a 1% chance that by screwing up that play every game Coronel eventually figures it out then Struber will continue to tell him to do it.
Coronel isn't some academy kid they're trying to flip though. He's not cheap, not all that young, and scouts around the world are becoming more aware of MLS so a lowlight reel from this season won't do his market value any favors.
I think this was just a swing and miss from the scouting group on what skill set Coronel really offers.
