Watching the climbing is the best, but I also like the time trials (team ones are the most exciting). I anxiously await the start of the first stage, time trials in Monaco.

Yeah...meh. Just some guy who won the Tour De France (yawn) and had one of the greatest one day comeback performances ever. I've heard of him.

Stage 17 2006 TDF

That's cool! Even though he was disqualified after winning it with that doping scandal I'm still a big Landis fan! I'd like to see him back on the international pro circuit.

Time trials are the best, then climbing.

I'm excited for tomorrow.

As for the Lance/Contador thing, I'm with Stagnant, I don't think that either Lance or Levi could win it.

Can't wait. Contador has the best shot at winning this, but Lance can go out and win a couple stages, as well as Levi. We'll see.

A lot of things are going to clear after tomorrow's prologue. It's a win-win for Lance. If he is überdomestique, then he and the big LIVESTRONG truck that's following the tour will do exactly what he says he's doing - raising awareness. On the other hand, Le Tour is a three-week chess game. Astana's announcement that Contador is leader may be a misleading, pawn move smokescreen.

One thing: They have a STRONG TEAM, and it would be super cool with Levi, Lance, and Alberto all on the podium in Paris.

Vive La Tour de Lance!

The 'race' doesn't really begin until week 2

Cavendish is killing it again, and again, and again...

Yeah! That should be pretty cool. I like them way better than the ITT.

Astana should win.

I think Lance got lucky. Contador just happened to be caught near the back when team Columbia got upset and decided to attack the leaders. Lance was lucky enough to be near the front when it happened. That allowed him to join in. I think if Contador wasn't trapped in the Pelaton, most of team Astra would have joined Columbia.

I'm really looking forward to the team trials tomorrow. Should be really exciting.

Still, I don't mind seeing the old man take risks that the young'n won't. And remember, Cantador won when Rasmussen was kicked out. Yeah, it was probably the right thing to do, but it's still not a nice clean clinical win. Let's see where the dice fall this time. There's no better tactician than Bruneel.

I love how no matter who the media interviews from Astana, they all say the same - "we'll see."

Right now, they hold the podium in Paris, since Cancellara can't climb like the Astana boys can. I think that is their ultimate goal this year - an Astana Podium in Paris, and the team victory.

Now THAT would be Le Coup!

As far as Contador "getting caught" yesterday - well, he should be smarter than that. You've got high wins, you know one of the sprint teams is going to work like mad to pull in the break away (and OF COURSE you know Team Columbia is going to work like mad for Cavendish - that's a no-brainer - they're going for an all-time stage win with that man this year, and are likely to get it.) AND it's the first week of the tour - you stay in front, and out of trouble. Both Cancellara & Lance were paying attention and knew where they needed to be. Contador may be younger, but Lance has the experience. We'll see how it all plays out. If Contador thinks he can't learn anything from the Old Man, then he's already lost this race.

There's no one smarter than Lance & Johann when it comes to this three week chess-game on wheels.

Cancellara and Armstrong separated by tenths of a second, but Cancellara kept the jersey...for now.

Astana's performance was amazing but Cancellara earned the right to keep the jersey by dragging the rest of his team along.

Cavendish didn't seem too happy.
