#1376581 Kaku out?

They were stupid in holding on to him for so long. Shoukd have sold him to liga mx when they had the chance. Time to cut losses and move on.

We had a glut of "squad/rotation" players last year. We need less of them,  and more bona-fide starters. I never rated Stroud that highly. If we don't replace him with a clear starter, then it will be a loss. But if we can find a stronger player then I won't lose sleep over this.

Mines looks like he got terrible life advice re: Stanford.  It's not like he was a lights out, Adams/Clark level prospect.  His ceiling is probably a mid level MLS player,  and with the league seemingly improving every year, he'd probably wind up being a role player wherever he ends up. I'd rather take the free ride to Stanford,  play D1 soccer a few years,  and try my hand at MLS in 4 years.

#1375157 Offseason will be a bloodbath

What a waste of a season lol. I thihk we all knew it was going to end like this. Hard to get excited about next season unless some MAJOR additions. Talking some big game changer DPs.

With a competent striking core (not even a DP, just someone who can actually play soccer above the u-8 level) we probably advance further in the playoffs with the same roster we already have.

there's no development chelsea is doing for Miazga. He's a pawn for their revenue generating loan scheme.

his Chelsea "development" is having played in top European leagues for a few years via loan, something which RBNY would not have been able to offer him.

The two are very comparable. Btw, adu played in Benfica, monaco, belenenses and aris before he came back to philly. None of those teams are in "lower european leagues"

to say he played there is a bit of an overstatement. he had 11 appearances at benfica, 9 at monaco, and 3 at the portuguese powerhouse Beleneses, 5 at Aris.

FWIW we're +270 underdogs as of right now. Have to figure if Kaku and CCJ get the green light to play, it'll help our odds. Because I'm a glutton for punishment, decided to throw $50 on our guys to win. Getting hyped!

freddy adu followed his dream, played in Europe, got paid and played for usmnt but never lived up to expectations. In other words... a bust. Miazga is in the same path. He will prob be back in mls by his late 20s.

Same thing happen to brek shea, eddie johnson, agudelo, sal zizzo, gyau, kenny cooper... ect

I could go on and on since history repeats itself.

Freddy Adu bounced around the lower european leagues for a few years before coming back to the NASL

Matt Miazga has been on loan at top European leagues, and is currently starting on a Champions League caliber team (as well as the USMNT), while still on the payroll of one of the biggest clubs in the world.

The two are not comparable in the slightest.

Clark off the bench as an impact sub

We're not world beaters but I think we have a chance in any 1 game playoff series this year...provided Barlow sees as little of the field as possible.

If he would have stayed an extra year that chelsea offer would likely have been off the table. I'm sure if you ask him he's happy with how things turned out. Regular first team soccer. Big paycheck.  European exposure. Not bad for a local jersey guy.

Are yall talking about the game where he drove on the field with a chick playing violin and he was spinning techno music?  I was sitting in 201 that day, everyone in the section thought it was fucking amazing.

I think many/most in 101 and adjacent areas were buying beers / at the bathroom so they missed out (i remember peering over and seeing lots of empty seats).

DJ solli rocks

This game changed for the worse when we took yearwood off. Valot is simply not a box to box mid and we don't have a good shape with just ccj in there.

Pendant with numerous mistakes

Forgettable game overall

Clark has talent but is too raw to contribute for long stretches. He'll get better with more playing time but for now he's best as an impact sub. I would use him for 30-35 mins for the next few regular season games
