If only.

The first time ever Defender of the Year went to a midfielder... and Casseres didn't even play d-mid for most of the year.

interesting stas out there, with Davis 4th in the league in interceptions and 5th in tackles. Underrated?

Maybe that's why Armas benched him for the playoffs.

I like Davis, but not as d-mid.

activity may pick up soon, big trade sending Dax to NASH. you'd think Hamlett'd be on the phone trying to see if he can do some deals.

100K? Jebus. I know not everyone is a fan, but I'd do that in a second.

Yep! Also, did we trade up for Stolz? I feel like we did. Cause with Boateng we gave away a not insignificant amount of allocation for that draft pick for him, and the best thing we got out of it was Buckmaster, not even the guy we were trying to take!

No, Stolz was our own pick... and we got Nealis, not Buckmaster, as the throw-in. Buckmaster was for Amando Moreno.

Buckmaster and Barlow start playoff games for both the big and reserve team.

Says it all right there.

HA HA HA HA HA. Our season is over, but at least we had no expectations in the playoffs. Those chokers...

and they can't even play in their own baseball stadium!

#1356012 Lade retires

Is he the first player to a have a true European style soccer career arc?  Academy, then sticking with the first team for more than a handful of games/seasons and retire with the team.  That alone is an accomplishment beyond individual contribution to the team over the years.

What it means to be a product of our academy seems to be a bit murky to me.

He even went on loan to a lesser club when struggling for playing time!

So our baseline is a .500 record, and a first-round ouster? Really? We're back to 1996?

That's definitely not true unless they are talking about 1 game knockouts?

Galaxy blew a 4-0 aggregate against San Jose and lost 5-4 many years ago.

And even if they are talking about single games, LA was up 2:0 in that one.

Also, Montreal was up on Toronto 3:0 and then 4:2 on aggregate.

Guess I must change my screen name.

Game was the lead story on SportsCenter.
Philly had never won a playoff game.
Biggest comeback in MLS playoff history.

Huh? Biggest comeback? We've blown two goal leads in 2005 and 2013. San Jose came back from 4:0 to beat LA 5:4.

Who would even fire Armas? Hamlett? Whoever the head of Red Bull Global Football is (lost track...)?

Hey Alexi, you know what's "so Metro"? Firing the best coach in American history because you realized that while you were the boss on paper, he was superior to you not only intellectually and in his understanding of the game... but as a human being.

Fucking scumbag.

#1355166 The Fire Chris Armas Thread

Posted by MetroFanatic on 13 October 2019 - 01:11 PM

“The good news, guys,” Armas told his team as they returned to training this week, “is that we love this time of year and everyone’s counting us out. It’s all there for us. We just know that when that whistle blows in a few weeks, it is game on. And for me, that’s the beauty.”

"we love this time of year"

What team has he been coaching for the last 5 years?
