Per K. Dyer:

Hearing rumblings of Brandon Allen going out on a loan. Minnesota a possible destination; they showed interest in preseason. #RBNY #Loons

Makes sense if he can get MLS minutes. With Grella out, that would leave us with Veron as the only backup unless signings are imminent. Haha

What do we gain with these loans

At this point, Allen is probably too good for USL for that league to push him. If he's not getting minutes here at the MLS level, a loan to a team where he could get minutes will only help his development. Rotting on our bench isn't going to do much for him or Red Bull.

Im assuming this frees up a roster spot. Has anyone done any research on what attacking players may be on salzburg or leipzig's payroll that are not getting any playing time?

5 year plan

Set "Playing In" to Austria or Germany, lower your cost, and scout away!

We got Zizzo for letting Meara playing with Man City Lite for a year.

Oh wait, you said gain?

Considering Allen has got a whopping 7 minutes with the first team after dominating USL, this is the perfect loan scenario.

Since its in league he wouldn't be able to play against us right?

Correct, in any competition.

Couple other things to consider:
We can only loan once intraleague per year.
Cannot loan Allen next year (must be under 24 at start of loan).
Cannot be loaned until July 10 and must be loaned for remainder of the season.

It's part of the negotiations between the two teams.

He's just not good enough for pro, funny how he he lead scoring college or second to Morris.

He is not? Shouldn't he be given the chance to play first?

Based on?

Good move for all sides

Bradley Wright-Phillips "I prefer it at Red Bull Arena, but it was OK. I could imagine it being good for a baseball crowd.
