Elias sucks, so sick of seeing this guy never score

Wasnt a big fan of him. Didnt want them to pick up his option. I wanted klimala, Elias and Barlow all gone over the winter. I saw enough last year to see these guys werent clinical when it came to finishing chances

The first game against these guys is the one I thought should have pushed Schneider to can Struber. They've won 4 of their last 5 though.
 
I doubt they start Dante but I hope he gets on in the second half.

I doubt Dante starts but he should come off the bench. They got him to score and our team is lacking that. Wonder if any of our injured guys return for the bench as well. Ccj, Sean nealis and Reyes will be back in the lineup

I’m on the fire struber boat right now. The offense will always suck under this manager and it’s getting worse. He’s 0-3 in the playoffs plus last weekend didn’t help when he refused to remove vanzeir to help calm things down.

Ngoma is 17 so no need to rush him at this point. Just have him play with RB2 and if he could be consistently healthy and put in good games then bring him back to the senior team at the end of the season. He has loads of talent but he needs experience and would prefer we don't turn him into a god like how Caden clark became early on. 

 

Same goes for Ofori, Davi Alexandre, and bento Estrela. All good talents that play with the youth national teams and gaining attention. Just let them keep playing and gain experience with RB2. Let them hit 18-19 yr old before we give them Senior minutes.

Fuck the league and their refs.. bronico should be banned next time we face eachother. Admitting now youre wrong doesnt do anything for us.

The team has to get aggressive on offense. They sat back when we went 1-0 and invited pressure. Need more fresh legs out there

Overall thoughts:
1. Coronel had a mental breakdown on that goal. Came out too fast and should have done better communicating with Reyes. Amateur mistake but we got the win so hes bailed out.

2. Respect to Dylan tonight. Had a good game. Gotta give props when its due.

3. Glad to see our DPs both get goals. Hopefully this could get them going.

4. Vanzeir has to start from here on out. He was very good with the ball and what a strikers finish.

5. Burke is quickly becoming a fan favorite. Shows a lot of heart on the field.

6. Manoel needs to slow his game a bit. He did a lot of good today but at times he over ran the ball or rushed a pass.

7. Much needed win! And we have Winnable game next week vs charlotte. Time to get on a run

Manoel having a good preseason. Hopefully he could continue this finishing in the season.

I think this is a very open and honest assessment. 

Klimala was not wrong on what he said. This falls on thelwell because thelwell should have known klimala wouldn't fit the pressing system. Plus he came with a low scoring record compared to vanzeir who we just bought. What kind of scouting did he do to think he could fit if klimala himself just admitted he wasn't right for the system. Klimala was just a panic buy and blew up in our face. 

Yeah - all the best to him. I think he tried hard but couldn't get out of his own head. Couldnt get comfortable.

March 2021 - RB wants to buy Haksabanovic from Norrkoping. RB offers 4MM, Norrkoping wants 5MM, no deal

 

April 2021 RB buys Klimala for 4.3MM euro from Celtic. Celtic boards were all amazed that they didnt sell him for a loss. They actually made 300k on the deal.  

 

August 2022 - Celtic buys Haksabanovic for 2.5MM euro

 

January 2023 - RB transfers Klimala apparently for free... 

 

I still have hope for Harper, but the Celtic relationship looks fairly one sided so far....

That was all Thelwell and his Celtic obsession. Harper move I like. Young American that has improved and shown glimpses of ability. Hope thelwell is  rotting in Everton! I think thelwell relied too much on hamlett. Schneider has come in this offseason and worked fast and attacked positions of need plus didn't let hamlett play with our funny money like in years past.

I think as of now the off-season grade on the FO is a B+ but if they bring in a good cb it goes to an A+. Gotta give credit when its due.

This may be more of a RBNY thing than an MLS thing. Recent management has been very intentional about keeping preseason under wraps, I guess not to tip their hand to how they intend to play this season?

I've also heard that preseason streams get like, 100 viewers so many MLS teams stopped bothering.

haha everyone knows how the Red Bulls play... PRESS PRESS PRESS PRESS! Nothing to hide. I don't care if they don't stream but they could at least do a weekly update on who's doing well, injuries, etc.

If they really could have sold him for $4 million, they should have taken it.  That would have recovered like 80% of a severely trashed asset.

Honestly just an elite CB and maybe a back up left back away from a pretty solid roster.

We have depth in most other positions.

Struber always liked the 4-2-2 but we didn't have the players for it but now I think we could really try it out with vanzeir signing. I also agree we need to bring in one more CB but I think the back up LB will be Ofori/reid.

 

Overall, kudos to the FO. They knew our biggest weakness was at striker and they bring in vanzeir, burke and Manoel (long term). Now bring in another CB and this offseason was a success. Not faulting the FO for the long departure since they offered him good money but he wanted to go back home in Cali.
