you only get so many chances. Also IMO his prospect was a bit overblown due to his early  success and hype. Was still very raw technically and tactically

I think the club is going give pendant a real chance and potentially Tolkin as well that will be good enough perhaps you get a gloster if you can but left back is not a super need imo

I think preseason starts 3/8 - theres a 1 week covid quarantine that started monday, if I recall correctly. 
Hopefully he'll only miss a couple days of preseason. 
 
Still want another LB and a creative attacker, but glad the team is 90% set before preseason. 

so players could quarantine prior to March 1st and start group training then buy March 1st was when a mandatory quarantine began for a mandatory March 8th start

I'm starting to lean towards there being a misunderstanding of the quality of MLS compared to what we have... That will prove out this season save a significant addition.

Lot of people making grand assumptions because they never heard of a player before. We wont know how good we are or where we stack up until games start getting played. I remember when people thought BWP sucked or questioned why were bringing in some guy from the Carolina rail hawks on trial etc. Tom bogert has an exclusive interview with thelwell coming soon so perhaps we will get more context. Some of the moves are a bit confusing seemingly building at positions we have depth in but we may find out thelwell and Struber have a vision for what they want that the starters we felt we had dont totally fit

I dont see this as Edwards vs duncan. Either Duncan or Edwards will start over pendant/ egbo and the other will play RB.  

Either pendant or egbo are off this team unless they can play midfield.

Bragantino loan ends June and Brazilian league is winding down, so maybe he swings our way remainder of 2021?

Ill be skeptical on GCs until they come through. Dont know if it was posturing but Phillys SD Ernst Tanner was bemoaning the lack of international spots at their disposal because it is difficult to get GCs done right now.

was thinking Miami may have already started the process with Reyes they got some done pretty quickly iirc.

I'm risking a thread split here but the discussion of how transfer dollars are spent piqued my interest and I totaled up the inbound/outbound transfers since 2011.
 
According to Transfermrkt, we've sold players for about $14.3M and spent $13.7M on inbound transfers. Throw in the a few more mil to account for building the academy and USL team from the ground, and it looks like at minimum Red Bull is reinvesting what they make in sales.
 
Still some fair questions on whether you'd expect a bit more in the 'inbound' column given the money Red Bull is saving on guys like Adams and Clark, or given their deep pockets to begin with. Just thought it was interesting how close they've come to breaking even on the transfers.

the academy is essentially paid for by a pay for play pre academy and coaching business camps etc. that is a cash cow. Millions in revenue 40k kids under the umbrella

And he would be another player to leave for free when they transfer him to Salzburg or Leipzig. Unless we are selling them, to the highest bidder, its all pointless. Besides, RB Corporate doesnt even reinvest the transfer funds, or any funds for that matter, on Metro.

how many times do I have to tell people on this board as long as the GAM is maxed at 1 mil the rest of the fee is pointless. 10 mil to Bayern or 3 mil to Leipzig make zero difference because still only 1 mil is going to the roster. The rest mostly goes to other expenses that Red Bull is more than capable of covering with out transfer income.

 
Yeah still time left in the off season and Thelwell has been so active I'm hopeful some bigger signings are to come, but right now that lineup is objectively worse than the one that got us to 6th place in the East with a first round playoff exit last year.
 
At minimum, if we're talking about being title contenders, that lineup likely needs another upgrade at striker, holding midfield, and possibly both CB spots.

looks better to me got rid of square peg in kaku potential upgrade at right back you have a better coach and Fabio looks a player up top. Harper is a solid prospect. Reminds me a bit of year 1 of Jesse. We were like mike grella who is that sal zizzo I mean I guess Felipe will be 10 Sacha 6. We have no idea how Struber will play but all reports his teams buy in he is committed to this job and can lift a team to higher highs something armas wasnt capable of
