Probably a blessing. Sounds like hes not good according to Sporting fans.

Was born in England and played for Liverpool and Reading, so theres the English connection scouting blind spot.
Guess they want a 5th CB though

Over before it started! Surely this would have been a depth move, right? Article says this guy can't even get playing time for Sporting's reserve team

I think there are probably a lot of players who would be below the standard for the top team in Portugal but good MLS players.

It's weird to me that we'd be going after a CB, though. Parker got his shit together once Armas left.

Long on the way out?

I don't like getting turned down.

Don't take it personally...

Odd one, unless Tarek is gone and were looking for a solid 3rd CB.

Maybe they think that moving Parker is the easiest way to get a quality striker, from MLS or beyond. A central defender is easier to replace... in theory.

I would not move Parker or Long. The non-Armas version of Parker is a beast. Those are two of our best players. Just get a damn good striker.

in my opinion high quality American CBs are the most valuable non-DP asset in MLS.  You dont move them unless you get a brinks truck, rarely does a team trade for one and regret it (i.e. Zimmerman, Opera, Parker, etc.)

that said with both on deals that expire this season have to look at other alternatives to hedge.  Ideally we lock both of them up for non DP deals though to avoid free agency.
