i'm guessing Thelwell will be given TWO Nordstrom Rack credit cards to shop for new players, rather than the one card Hamlett used.

If Hamlett goes to the well once too often with his credit card, he will be outta here.

If a Head of Sport holds a press conference but there is no NY-based media to report on it, does it make a sound?

Bradley Wright-Phillips "I prefer it at Red Bull Arena, but it was OK. I could imagine it being good for a baseball crowd.

Absolutely nothing of interest. Yes, we'll try to sign players if they are the right fit. Wake me up when it happens...

This paragraph made me scratch my head:

"When Thelwell was named head of sport Feb. 3, there was great concern by fans, media and observers that Denis Hamlett's position as sporting director was going to be diminished greatly. That wasn't the case, Thelwell said."

I would really like to meet one of these alleged Metro fans that was "greatly concerned" at the prospect of Hamlett's role being diminished.

There you have it. Nothing will be done. All hope is gone.

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

Agree but its hard to argue that it hasnt been diminished even though they want us to believe otherwise.

Its pointed out in the article, and it was mentioned by some around the fanbase when Thelwell was hired, that Hamlett is responsible for advising Thelwell on the convoluted MLS roster rules, etc.
