Kool-Aid taste good? What the fuck does ESPN know, anyway? They picked all Ohio State over Florida this year and last year USC was the best team ever....before they played Texas. I guess they hit the mark two straight years. Hell, I'll admit it, it is all bullshit anyway. Two out of three ain't bad, though.

I'm sure the training staff will have fun rehabbing Marc Tyler's shredded knee.

as with all the other rankings, it is a bunch of bs. but i will say i am very satisfied with the class we got. not huge in quantity, but i have a feeling at a player per player level this may be sc's best class ever.

UCLA not being ranked in the top 20 is sad. i blame Guerrero for not making UCLA more attractive. USC will be lethal next year. but UCLA might still win. remember UCLA's 7 in a row?

What kind of signing bonus does each player get and at what point can they make Reggie Bush type money?

Somebody get this guy some kool-aid.

The Dunning–Kruger effect is a cognitive bias in which "unskilled people reach erroneous conclusions and make unfortunate choices but their incompetence robs them of the metacognitive ability to realize it." The unskilled therefore suffer from illusory superiority, rating their own ability as above average.

Not until they virtually have the Heisman locked up. A player is usually deemed 'worthless' until they establish their top 10 draft position. At that point agents start trying to make inroads to sign a player, because the higher the draft position the bigger their pay-day and guaranteed bonus money. Out of the top 10 picks there's a significant drop-off in guaranteed money to the player drafted and therefore a smaller 10% for the agent.

Thanks for the thoughtful answer.

I suppose I did not make it clear enough that in actuality, my question was one part satire, one part sarcasm, and one part commentary on the fact that I believe any successful Division 1 football program cheats like crazy and pays players (its all a matter of whether they get caught or not). Oh well....

My question is when will the abomination that is the NCAA accept that both usury and slavery are abolished by law in this country? If athletes (many of whom are desparately poor) are performing a service (entertainment) by which the NCAA and the colleges and universities are profiting significantly - why can this institution maintain a monopoly on their services with no payment save tuition room and board (and even here the NCAA even has a rule about the dimensions of the bag a player can take away left overs from a team lunch in).

Pay these guys a stipend - equivalent to a teaching or research assistanceship and a lot of the temptation to cheat goes away...
