RBNY revenue is a blip on RB books.

And so are any RBNY related losses, which is why fan boycotts and what not would do almost nothing to make them sell the team.

Bad publicity might.

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

You are asking for trouble drinking that much.

I'd be curious what % of Red Bull revenue comes from the drink vs the sporting side.  Obviously they have the 4+ soccer teams, but they also have Red Bull F1 racing team which is huge, along with a lot of other sponsorship in extreme sports like Snowboarding / Skateboarding ect

I'm guessing they hope, at best, to break even on the sports

I thought the profits off the soda itself were so absurd, they fund RB's sports marketing, which serves to sell more soda.

Bad publicity would certainly be a lever. I think it'd take:

- An inspiring vision for what the team could be with local, MLS 5.0 ownership

- A strong, united local fan campaign

- A prospective ownership group thats committed to leveling up and advancing the club

     - With a set of shares sold to fans?

- A strong offer to buy RBNY

- A media savvy fan campaign

- A multi year RB sponsorship deal with MLS's hot new rebirthed club

- A league-wide #redbullout #bringbackMetro fan campaign (bad publicity)

Red Bull would not want to seem uncool and establishment if people were rallying against it. But I think a more successful fan campaign wouldn't focus on Red Bull being bad, because it hasn't been (mediocrity is a B). It's just not as fuckin amazing as what could be. New owners that are worse is certainly a risk, but the overall quality of new MLS owners is rising.

I see the tone of a fan campaign being like a positive, mature breakup. Red Bull these were fun years, but something's missing. We need someone much more invested and interesting. Buhbye.

I would think 100% from drink.
F1 is a huge expense for team owners.
Soccer teams are generally not money makers.

Forbes has RB listed at a $9.9 billion valuation with $6.5 billion in sales in 2018. Im not sure if their sporting endeavors are contemplated in those figures (it doesnt appear they are), but regardless, they are a small blip on the radar of the soda.
