Milo ... ain't crazy
You should not diagnose in a non-clinical setting.
We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

Milo's expectations are through the roof, possibly through the stratosphere, but some of y'all are still talking like we don't have a third DP spot sitting there collecting dust. He ain't crazy for thinking there was room for at least one more serious attacker.
I sure as hell wouldn't have minded another Kaku level signing instead of the clown car of decent players we have now. We may not need it, but it couldn't possibly have hurt, right?
LOL, don't rewrite history. We all want the 3rd DP slot and it has been said till we are all blue in the face. But we don't have 6 Dp slots like LA : )
You have to play the hand you're are dealt.
We wouldn't have had Adams or Long without our development approach. BWP blossomed here. We will have others. We are step by step building a better squad. We had a deficiency in retaining young players. We changed that. We had a deficiency in defense for too many years. We fixed that. We lacked depth. We now have good depth. Now we need to elevate an already good attack. I think that will be done as well. But none of that was accomplished in one season.
I like this team because it is the type of team I like. Cohesive, hard working, no oversized egos, just teamwork. Not perfect, but I am proud of them. I believe they will get better and that we will lift that Cup.

That's why I'm so riled up about it, MLS dealt us a hand with 3 DP spots and a boatload of TAM and we're not playing all our cards!
Don't get me wrong I'm happy with the direction the team has taken too and think we're still good enough to win it all this year, but none of that stuff should be preventing us from also using all the roster resources available. At this point we'll just have to see how it rolls, I'm still very optimistic.

Yeah, I liked the 96 Yankees too.
I'd say I prefer the 09 Yanks, better yet, the 77-81 teams. The Straw That Stirred The Drink.

aaron should have held out for more!
I think they like to have flexibility for the summer and allow time for this group of wingers to develop.
Also want to ensure good fit so its more Royer than Ivan.
Bradley Wright-Phillips "I prefer it at Red Bull Arena, but it was OK. I could imagine it being good for a baseball crowd.

Gotta think they had something lined up early on and quickly realized it wasn't gonna happen and then focused on making sure the current squad was all happy.

Completely understand the approach they are taking with players. They only want very specific players that fit the system. And you can't argue with that philosophy. It clearly works. They did a fantastic job getting Kaku and locking up the back line. And it's encouraging that they shelled out 2M to buy Jorgensen. It's not like they are being completely cheap. But with that being said, the 3rd spot is still available. And i find it hard to believe there isn't one elite player that they could get to fit our system and improve the team (that's what they are claiming). As long as that spot is open, it will always feel like we aren't doing 100% to help the team win it all.

to me this makes the most sense because if they were being extremely cheap they would do what some others do and place a player that is eligible for TAM and call them a DP. Having the slot open means they are willing to use it, but for some reason or another havent sealed the deal with someone they want to use it on yet. Otherwise it would make no sense to burn TAM on someone like Jorgensen where calling him a DP would save you $600k of TAM that is coming out of RBNY's pocket.
Why it takes so long for them to find players they like is another story I would like answer to, but signing a DP at a level below a Kaku with no MLS experience is a waste of time.

I think you have that backwards. TAM comes from the league; use it or lose it. DP wages above the salary cap hit come out of the the teams pocket.
