i remember that goal in OT at DC. Matthaeus to Petke, so gratifying.

Was this the one where we went down to RFK, singing "We've come for Elian, we've come for Elian!" If so, that road trip was infamous!

Stan, for obvious reasons, I have no recollections of that.

49 playoff goals. Would've been sweet to have hit 50 this year...

Remember, we're 5 goals away from 1000.

Also, we were at 297 players coming into today. Four are stepping on the field at the same time: Zubar, Felipe, Klejstan, and Grella. They share #s 298-301...

Who do you think would be the one to score that goal?

Dan, which goals count?

I think we were at 855 for regular season games.

MLS Regular Season, MLS Playoffs, CCL, USOC and still coming up four short.

Is it safe to assume the other four are from the 2001 Copa Merconorte? It is the only way I could come up with the other four.

Correct. Merconorte counts as it was official international competition.

[sidenote: if we count the two 2-0 forfeit Merconorte wins, we're exactly at 1000, but that's bullshit.]

Shame 1000 is going to be scored on the road.

Today we're 12 goals shy of 1,000. #MLS regular season: 875 #MLS playoffs: 64 US Open Cup: 49 988 and counting...

Is there any in this rout with authority to treat with me? Or indeed with wit to understand me?
