Fun story:
I watched a video once with Carlsen playing Bill Gates and BG lost in less than 10 moves after promising to bring is A game. I think its funny people were commenting like Gates even had a chance to pull off the upset (which was probably more than a million to one).
"Richest guy on the planet, he probably paid for the best lessons"
"Went to Harvard, he'll figure it out"
"Managed one of the 10 most profitable companies ever, this is nothing"
Yeah, because intelligence is transferrable at the drop of a hat. If this was the case, people with Nobel prizes in quantum physics would wake up one day and just decided to get a Nobel in genetics as well. Or someone would have written best selling novels, won Nobels in sciences, and made billions in business. But not one has done this yet. Because even if you have a 180 IQ, you still need decades of hard work + a little luck.
I just thought it was hilarious. Carlsen is the Messi of chess. I think ELO says he has the best peak ever. Vs a guy who only plays computer chess. Okay.
