Abang was accused of stealing money and taking pictures of his teammate's credit cards.  He then was invited to the owner's gold covered palace and offered a contract, but was still searched before he left to make sure that he didn't steal anything else.

Frankly, since I am merely a fan and a not a fancy American soccer writer, I'm going to congratulate Wright-Phillips on a well hit goal. If I was an American soccer writer, I'd claim that the recently retired Henry was wearing an invisibility cloak and carried the ball into the net for the obviously unskilled Wright-Phillips.

His career is going out with Abang.

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

Isn't he actually making good money as well? What team in their right mind would bring this guy in after this got out?

A team whose owner acquired his fortune through shady means? Makes secret payments to players and agents? Pays off officials or opponents to fix matches?

Well, now we know why he is in the doghouse. Shame, guy has tremendous upside. But it sounds like he has major issues to sort out. In fact, sounds almost like a sociopath. Photographing teammates credit card info???

But that owner is probably smart enough to know that adding a guy who robs his teammates (and everyone knows that fact) is probably not going to lead to a harmonious locker room or wins.

He or an accomplice could order things on-line. The teammate/cardholder might not even notice the charges on his monthly statement. Very sneaky, IMO.
Even if noticed and reported, the victim will get reimbursed, but the case would probably not be reported to the police, or investigated by them.

There are players in many locker rooms banging the WAGS of their teammates ...

Generally players from the Scum, IIRC.

Wasnt some Argentinian player left off their squad for this reason this year? Not as bad as Mr Harkes, but still.

Frankly, it was more fun being there watching the US play & lose, than it will be to sit home and watch the US not play this year.
