#1339331 Club America wants Kaku

Posted by Metrohoboken on 20 January 2019 - 03:33 PM

Hard to judge Kaku without knowing the entire background of his motivation here, but this isn't good. Even if the club makes a profit on the sale I don't see how you spontaneously acquire a player of similar quality and integrate him in time for it to mean anything this season.

Ask Seattle

I don't think it was that at all!  I think Adams got tired.  Champions League, long MLS regular season, regular call-ups to the USMNT, a full 90 on the Wednesday before leg 1 at Atlanta (not his fault)...all of this may have caught up to him.  I personally don't think that he lost focus.

Dont feed the troll

no Parker is strange.

Davis is as good as than Roldan, Trapp or Delgado but Berhalter has his preferences.  Too bad for Sean as he had excellent year and probably deserves it.

No, it failed. It didn't work at home and has failed in plenty of playoff series before this one.

Since were not going to make a big splash.  How about signing a bunch of these guys to add some true depth that would give quality MLS minutes when called upon.

I think we need to go back to Vets to get us through the Playoffs.  How about we spend 650K on the following.   Don't  have to worry about keeping up in the system, since the full time press is out the window.

Jordan Harvey

Benny Feilheiber

Tony Tchani

Rodney Wallace

Bring in some MLS depth.  Send the kids down to the 2 team for regular minutes. Let those on the edge battle for minutes.  Competition breeds excellence.

pass.  promote youth who play in our system* (that works quite well in regular season :-)

Getting us through the playoffs will come through another DP AM/winger or 2nd striker

Harvey and Benny are 34/35.  Tchani bounces around and Wallace is ok but we can do as good out of our academy.

#1337941 FCC Expansion Draft

Posted by Metrohoboken on 11 December 2018 - 09:09 AM

Yeah I wouldn't be sad if lade got picked, but come-on. Im sure at least one person in the FCC front office watched the playoff series vs Atlanta and thought "man, that RBNY left back sure is getting manhandled out there".

I hope someone picks up Lade. About time his experiment is done.

If the ATL loss continues to be blamed on Lade being manhalded please watch the highlights again that show mistakes by Parker on 2 of the 3 goals and Murillo on all 3.  Granted they are better then Lade overall but definately not on that day.

Lade is not an experiment as he is a valuable back up RB/LB and great squad guy as well as longest tenured homegrown who covers 2 + positions for 1 price.

- high $$$ winger/#10

          - will we see another Argy as we have been willing to pay and MLS is much more viable over the last few years.

BWP back up

             - don't hate but if Rossi wants to sign for a low $$ performance incentive heavy price I would be ok with that.

Fine if they go but don't think Front Office will split:

Ivan - fine with him going.  As others have said he has technique just not quick (unlike Royer who can be quick)

Murillo - I think he lost value over the 2nd half of the season. Guy can be excellent going forward but defensive not as solid.

Border line

RZA - like his game but not at 800K.

Parker - keep if possible however the guy rightly wants to get paid.

Royer - love Danny but if they move Kaku to the wing and bring in a high priced #10 I am ok with him going.
Escobar - I think he can play but his loan is up and unless they come to agreement on playing time or Parker leaves I can't see him coming back as he wants to play.  Not a bad idea to turn him into a #6 but I don't think he has the athleticism a $6 needs in our system

Kaku - agree either move to wing and bring in #10 or bring in high level winger.

Davis Long, Taxi, Robles, Merea, White, Etienne,Myul

Duncan - hope he can come back.  Defensively better then Murillo but nowhere near as good going forward.

Bring in another young player to push for time.  Maybe that is Yanes or an academy kid.

Lade - good back up for L/R fullback.

Valot - I like his game on the wing.  Wonder if he could develop into a Sean Davis.

You cant compare the two.  Kljestan is in the midfield, needs to be box to box and creative offensively.  That can decline very quickly.

BWP is just a goal scoring machine.  Vancouver, ORL, Philly, Houston, Would take him and become instant playoff team.

Anyway no one has heard from him since the Men in Blazers interview.  Something is probably up...

pass.  Villa is proven to be less successful than BWP in MLS over the last 3 years and is 4 years older.

If we get this magical winger that can create/score goals, would you be open to trading/selling BWP?

He could bring back some nice coin/good player and open up DP slot.

If so Id sign David villa. Cant play every game but can give you good production and further groom ettiene, muyl, valot, mines.

We cant lose fact that we need world class pedigree in the system so the kids can learn.

Spend out $$ on a world class winger who can ADD to the fantastic production of BWP when he is kept and has another 15 goal season.

Villa - does not suit our needs, is not long term solution and World Class pedigree for grooming is totally overated.

We've got them right them where we want them.

No one gave us credit for the regular season now no one gives us any hope in this game

For all the talk of tactics and identity we were not getting shelled except after 1st goal under lot pressure for 10 min.

1st goal incredible cross - misread by Parker who need 1-2 more steps. Misread by Murillo who could have taken a few steps and put Martinez under pressure or got goal side.
2nd goal Parkhurst beats BWP  scramble ball in midfield and picks out perfect clearance to Almiron. Almiron is gray on this and holds pass with perfect weight thru.
Murillo TURNS the WRONG way. If he turns the other way and obstructs or tries to it alters the play.
3rd goal is just bad. Parker playing center mid? Jogging back? Murillo should go for block decides instead to turn. If Myul has done that or what he did v Cbus goal might have stood for us. Guzan was shielded but I dont think he gets it even unsheilded

No doubt we lost bad.  ARGHHHHHHHHHHHH

3rd goal was by far the worst of it.  95 minute Terrible competitiveness terrible shape. Why is Parker that far out?  Pass goes right into where he should have been DE7 aweful fight Murillo should have gone for the simple block but didn’t know where he was on the field This is by far the worst part of the night. Just awful
